Whilst FreeCAD certainly doesn't have feature parity with things like Creo, I firmly believe it is good enough for most people. I switched to only using that for all my contract work and personal projects and it's generally been fine
Additionally, those corporations aren't made up of robots. People work there and make the decision to cause this damage. It being done at work doesn't absolve them of their responsibility.
I will say though that the presence of private healthcare in the UK does make me very uncomfortable, especially with how much the NHS is struggling for money
I've been using a fairphone 6 since it came out and honestly been really enjoying it. There are only two issues that I can think of. One is the placement of the volume buttons, they're in a really dumb place which causes you to do accidental screenshots. You do get used to it over time so they become less frequent, but still happens sometimes. The other issue is an IPv6 issue that a few Android phones have, it only causes issues for a few applications on certain WiFi networks and can be gotten around by just turning on a VPN and going through that, but again it's still worth being aware of. The position of volume buttons obviously won't change, but hopefully someone will fix the Android network stack so that the IPv6 issues are sorted.
You can also chop up a bunch now and freeze them, that way whenever you need some chopped onions for a dish you already have them in the freezer and it's one less thing you have to do at the time
Unfortunately these weren't the types of yachts they were going after. They were, AFAIK, going for yachts under 50ft. I've known of people who have a 40ft boat as their home, so these are not the same type of people as the billionaires on super yachts
I would say this is just about him breaking his community's trust in him, and people let him know that. So now he'll need to work to earn it back.
It isn't really drama, but I can understand why people would feel a bit betrayed when they find out this person, who presents themselves as a science communicator, was heavily using a machine that is well known for hallucinations and spreading misinformation.
Additionally, Hank himself has said he is deeply concerned about the effects of AI on the climate crisis, the consolidation of economic power, and the way it was trained. Him heavily using it can makes it feel as though he doesn't care about that stuff as much as it initially appeared. And given his community includes a lot of people heavily worried about the climate crisis, consolidation of economic power, and the theft of artists' work, I think them being angry at him is understandable and expected.
Of course, hopefully he now steps back and reflects on this, and then comes back better. But that couldn't happen without someone calling him on it first.

Pretty sure FreeCAD can also do that using the CAM workbench

Did you forget about order 66?
Yeah I love my spacepen bullet

I think this thread on the forum is the same issue: https://forum.fairphone.com/t/dns-over-tls-ipv6-issues-apps-dont-load-data-over-wifi/130519
And I think this is the related android bug report: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/429703129
Big hugs!

Yeah, I've got it on my fairphone
Damp squib*
Same! We don't have Netflix or Prime in our house but we do have Nebula and Dropout
Just checking, do you mean GitHub? Git definitely doesn't have copilot

I'm not sure what you mean though... Nextcloud is a company
My main issue is it makes the headline confusing. I'd never heard that nickname before and so I was really confused about what they meant.
Bombing kids isn't fighting hamas

It depends what you define as drama.

Pretty sure both him and John have described themselves as rich.
Like they're not big tech CEO rich, but they are rich enough that they've said they don't need to worry about income.
