Some test achievement for a game I was developing, to check that the achievement integration and unlocking worked as expected. It later got replaced by the real achievements, but my Steam rarest achievement showcase still shows it, so I’m happy to keep it for the lols. Probably only me and a couple QA folks could possibly have it. Well and cheaters of course.

My restic backups go to a bucket on scaleway. I’m not having any trouble with that.

They have a free trial, so maybe you could try and see if it works better for you.

I have experienced restic being very slow when it didn’t have a cache. Maybe something worth double checking. I believe it mentions it in the output.

In which language would you describe these things?

I have used that feature in Steam, and I thought it was neat. Also I did not think you could possibly mean that when you said multiplayer. Because as others have pointed out already that is not turning it into what one would generally describe as multiplayer. It turns it into remote coop, or chaos, or, if the game already has local multiplayer, it can turn it into remote multiplayer.

Nice for some games, but not generally applicable, and not what most people unfamiliar with it would expect after reading your statement.

with a few lines of code, they can turn a game into multiplayer

lol, wtf are you talking about? I have no idea how that would even work. I am a game dev. I can add the API calls to connect to the servers, sure. That doesn’t make the game function correctly as a multiplayer game.
So either you have no idea what you are claiming here, or you’re misrepresenting things on purpose.

It makes me not trust a single thing you say and think you’re just a Valve shill.

They have done good things for Linux. Doesn’t mean their anti competitive practices aren’t anti competitive.

And can we interest sir in an EU privacy law–mandated cookie consent pop-up?

That is the malicious compliance implementation that big tech went for in order to nag us into accepting all cookies, not at all what the EU law had in mind. ”Reject All” is supposed to be as easy to choose as ”Accept All”, or you know, you could just read my browser’s ”do not track” setting, that’s what it’s ducking for.
