For me as Austrian the desire of vulcans to negate their Emotionality is very relatable. That's why I cannot accept that they are supposwd to have reached a high level of reasonability without having learned to integrate their emotions.
I think that's why Spock turned out to be such a influential figure. He just resonates with a lot of the real life contradictions and desires humans have.
Btw. the super strength of vulcans is a result of their logicality (which is only narrative, but not feasible when you look how they original script describes their evolution, as you also mentioned). Or how else do you describe those capacities of mind connection and fighting techniques where special pressure points render opponents defenseless?
