Totally agree with you that we all have problems. In Denmark, we voted to leave the EU long before Brexit; our government then narrowly pulled it back with a number of exceptions and a new referendum. Also, we had a rise in right wing politics and anti immigration sentiment very early on relative to other European countries.

I also agree with you that first-past-the-post is a huge issue that the UK should tackle, and it's not talked about enough! Our electoral system in Denmark is also flawed, but I do think the representation system we have feels more democratic.

This true, there is no backup Kodeviser. I actually have the MitID app installed and set up on an old phone, which just sits in my drawer. If I lose the Kodeviser, I can power that phone up and revert to the app, until I can order a new Kodeviser. So that is my plan for backup.

I love my Graphene setup! I cannot tell you whether your banking app specifically would work, but a few comments on my experience, in case it is of interest:

I never used my banking app on my phone prior to Graphene either, so I have never bothered trying to install it. I bank on my laptop. When I installed Graphene I also stopped using Google Pay. I just carry a card with me in a holder in my phone case, same thing really. Revolut I do use on my phone, and it works fine on Graphene.

MitID I assumed would not work, so I never tried. I ordered a Kodeviser, and for me it has not been an issue to not have the app, once I got used to it.

The only apps I had any trouble with were MobilePay and Rejsekortet at first. Both work fine now, after some minor tweaks to settings.

So all in all, there's a few slightly more manual things, like using a physical payment card and a Kodeviser, but I am happy with that tradeoff. The actual installation and setup up Graphene was super easy as well, so you could always give it a shot, and revert if you find it doesn't work for you.

It is indeed OK to like pretty things. But the bows are sort of a visible lump on the front, if I'm wearing leggings/ soft trousers/ dress.

I mean, I agree the comment is mostly ragebait or not serious. However, I wanted to mention that you may be underestimating how large a proportion of women's knickers have this bow. I usually cut them off, as they are just annoying, but honestly in my experience, the vast majority of knickers have this.

Yeah, I just remembered being surprised by the (small) size of Russia's GDP when I looked it up a while back.

Re the Euro, yep, we do have an exception, although I don't think we're the only EU country without the Euro (Sweden off the top of my head, maybe Poland too?). I am not really on top of all the macroeconomic implications - I would guess that the Danish krone is probably tied to the Euro at some level, and much of our financial policy is probably tied to EU policy. Could be there are some financial policy options that Denmark has more control over, when opting out of the Euro, but nothing that I am particularly aware of.

I think at a personal level, I would be fine with taking the Euro in Denmark. Easier for travel and online shopping without exchange costs. But that is an uninformed personal view :) I do not have a current detailed understanding of any other implications this would come with for the country - I am just not personally precious about our currency as some kind of national identity symbol.

I think you are right that the Euro would be a core part of any potential UK re-entry negotiations with the EU though.

Russia would not be the largest European economy, even if you counted them. They are about the size of Italy in terms of GDP I believe (not intending this as a correction, just sharing an interesting fact).

Totally agree with your main point, that the UK would be better off pursuing closer ties with Europe and the EU over US.

Min mand lavede pad kapao i går aftes - mega spicy, men altid så lækkert! Og han lavede endda en tofu kapao version til vores vegetar barn.
