It's like being forced to quit drugs cold turkey, and that sucks. There's been enough whistleblowers telling us social media is being shaped to be as addicting and harmful as possible and to get kids hooked as young as possible.

I was born a generation or maybe two now? above these kids. I got to experience the early Internet and not having MySpace weaponized against me. So from that perspective I'm at I'm happy for them. It's been consistently hard to avoid social media and the backlash of friends. I'll be excluded from a group event or miss important information every so often and then get told. "Well if you were on Facebook you would've known."

These kids will be alright once they discover what avenues are available to them for communication.

You share the same political beliefs as PJ and he actively seeks an echo chamber. Why would he ban someone likely to agree with him or upvote his content? Even if you don't directly engage with him you might comment favorably on someone else's posts even and he can get his fix. Almost all of his energy is driven to political content is why this matters.

That's not an insult to you, at least not from me.

Your last line invited the comments to become personal by mentioning that those "same people" tell English they have bad food.

Both can be bad btw. Many English comfort foods aren't much better than this meat loaf recipe.

This is due to one reporter using Google Translate with his source and the other DeepL

I'm honestly relieved I'm not alone in feeling like this. I hadn't said anything at all because I assumed when people talk about how hard it is to keep communities alive and that it's usually just 1 person posting for a long time until the community builds this was just part of it. But yea this user is a bit much for me as well.

Probably due to the issues surrounding the US vs indigenous people. Indigenous people were depicted as savages that scalped people yet at the same time scalping an indigenous person was a source of income yet somehow didn't make colonizers savages.

In my state at least millions in federal funding goes towards projects. Day to day operations are funded by state tax dollars and they still want people to pay ever increasing prices for public transport.

Honytawks argument further falls flat when you consider tax dollars do go to public transport.

Edit:clarified state tax vs federal

Actually on the side of law enforcement here, accuser has to provide burden of proof. It's pretty hard to prove how stupid and ignorant someone is or is not. Edit: It would make defense by ignorance the default plea and abused horrendously.

Only thing I think law enforcement gets wrong is THEY are allowed to take the defense of being ignorant of the laws they are supposed to be protecting. If anything a cop wrongfully charging someone with an offense and then admitting they didn't know what they were talking about should result in a larger punishment for them, not less.

I really thought smug ideology man would be a character bit where the comics would be incredibly bad takes and there would be a smug guy involved. The audience would find humor in him being so smug while also just wrong. These are just your takes which are mostly reasonable and I don't get why it's called smug ideology man unless you're the smug one?
