The ideal metaverse should be federated, speaking generically and not about fuckerberg’s bastardization of the idea.

I think there’s typically one more step than what I just replicated from home, but this is what I just did:

  1. Open maps -> search target
  2. Click View locations -> click a location
  3. Click “go”

My issue after arriving and then going to navigate home:

  1. Open maps -> click “end navigation”
  2. Close listing of target locations
  3. Close search results for target
  4. Finally, back to the home default maps screen, where I can click “home”

One thing that I absolutely hate about Apple Maps: trying to navigate home after navigating out somewhere. I swear I’ve got to close like 5 layers of garbage context left over from navigating to the first place. What the hell is the point of having a favorite if it’s gonna be hidden when I try to use it?

If I’m trying to navigate home, it’s because I don’t know the best way and I almost certainly used navigation to get where I currently am. So I have this issue almost every single time I use it.

What drives me nuts is that everyone likes to pretend America came up with this shit. But it was Britain, they just decided to abandon it for a new standard and were were too busy building a damn country and hating Britain to just adopt a new measurement system.

Is it the application you’re using? Something bugged on your system? Is it an older system where maybe that was a shortcoming?

I pulled up my Mac which I use to use with multiple monitors many times and tested again to ensure I wasn’t crazy and nope. I can have two different full screen apps open at the same time, one on each monitor.

Or a full screen on one, and the other just showing windowed applications with my dock visible.

As a recent transplant, I would like more upcoming events posts, and suggestions on places to visit. To that end I really enjoy enjoyed /r/ askportland more than /r/portland

So if we could cultivate more that kind of vibe, that’d be cool.

Legally, in the US, diy repairs can only void your warranty if the manufacturer can prove (the burden is on them) that your repair caused the issue you are trying to claim under a warranty.

I forget the name of the law, but Louis Rossmann has talked about it before.
