What's with all the weeks old news being posted in this community? Not that I'm saying it shouldn't be celebrated, but earlier this week I saw a post about Haley Stevens saying "Israel comes to me in my dreams", but that's a clip from her in 2023 that was repisted back in April of this year and she already lost her primary to Abdul weeks ago. Why are we even still mentioning her?
I think it's a relatively more recent thing where US conservative anti-France propoganda was very successful when they refused to support one of the US wars in the middle east. Can't remember which but it's where terms like "freedom fries" started popping up and then I think some people retconned France getting their shit pushed in early in WWII as somehow meaning they surrender easily even though in reality they were bearing the brunt of the Nazi invasion. But yeah without the French there would be no USA.
Real talk, what makes protests in France so different than the US? At every protest I've seen or been to in the US, protesters are almost always at the mercy of the police. Of course there is often pushback, but it doesn't take much until police are beating, arresting, and less-than-lethaling everyone in sight until protesters are inevitably split up, whittled down, or otherwise herded to where they can be more easily rounded up by police. I've seen cops back down before but it's almost always only temporarily until they can get more reinforcements, and while I know on paper the people outnumber police, there always seems to be more police available.
Please tell me there's documentation out there to get it to run on a disposable vape. I have many that I cant bring myself to throw out because it seems like such a waste of perfectly workable tech.
I want so badly to get in to it. I've tried several times and made it 5 or so episodes in, but for me it alternates between being either too slow paced or bringing about too much existential dread for me.

Managing infrastructure already sucks ass on AWS; i can't imagine using another abstraction layer on top that has to account for the "quirks" of that and other cloud providers
I'm cool with that. I also don't think it would necessarily be huge in terms of inconvenience for the average person because alternatives would pop up before long. For example, if air travel became prohibitively expensive we might actually see an expanse of passenger rail for domestic travel. It's ridiculous that it's still cheaper/more convenient to take a 45 min flight (plus the time the whole airport experience takes) vs a couple hours (or less with high speed rail) train ride. Certain plastics might also become too expensive so we might see the return to more sustainable packaging. A lot of the oil and byproduct consumption from the average person comes down to lack of choice ratger than people choosing products made from oil ober alternatives.
