I still hate an ALPR, but at least this one doesn't have a national database attached to it. Less danger of it being misused while people still try to get their cities to drop the tech all together.

I hate to live in a world where every single move I make is recorded by someone's camera. It really doesn't matter how the data is used or where it's stored

100% agree, just seems like a tiny tiny step in the right direction which is all I can expect from governments. I could also be completely wrong and this is worse. I'll just have to stay informed.

They're just as dangerous if not more im other ways. Axon is also a common supplier of cop daschcam ALPRs, so with them we not only have to worry about static surveillance but also mobile surveillance.
