Lemmy.world defederated EH a while back and now the same people from EH are posting wild on rammy.site, seems like a pretty cut and dry argument for defederation to me, if the admin were here and cleaning these posts and communities up that would be different but he's not and they're still here so best to treat is the same as EH because for all intents and purposes it is the same as EH.
Defederation is not censorship. It is refusing to listen to or platform things that you don't agree with i.e. bigots or nazis. Lemmy.world has defederated exploding heads so it stands to reason that they wouldn't want to listen to the same assholes spewing the same crap on rammy.site
They'll just create more communities, have you seen the community spam on here lately? If they did that fighting against each other do you really think they wouldn't evade community bans on lemmy.world? Defederation is the only way unless the admin comes back and does a sweeping IP ban of everyone posting shit on here, followed by defederating exploding-heads.
I don't foresee that happening though, admin has been MIA for over a month with no sign of returning and there's almost no activity here besides me and the assholes from EH.

Also I'm not sharing anything that wasn't already public knowledge, Federated DMs on Lemmy aren't secure any instance admins can see them, meaning any one with a PC capable of running docker can view your federated DMs.

I don't know I'm not on lemmy.ml I just noticed this shit in my feed earlier and I made the post to !main@lemmy.blahaj.zone warning them to defederate because of the invasion of toxic bigots from exploding-heads
I made this post to spread the warning to the largest instances in hopes of stopping the spread of this plague.
No the aim is to keep Bigots and Nazis out of Lemmy.world by cutting off the instance they're using to propagate their toxic shit to the rest of the Fediverse. Honestly you sound just as toxic as them, maybe you should go hang out on their instance and not spread your toxicity here.
Yeah I hope he can salvage the instance whenever he gets back, if he ever gets back. He'll probably have to wipe it clean and get a new domain honestly.
This is why if setting up a Lemmy instance it's important that you always get a team of people to work together as admins, that way there's always someone there to take care of the problem and you don't end up in situations like this.

Yep they trash smaller instances until larger ones defederate them and all the users on them. I'm thankful I don't have many posts or comments on my account but it absolutely sucks that I'm going to need to find another probably less reliable server.
Any suggestions for good servers to use as my new home server? I can't really host one because I have potato internet in a mobile unit (don't believe what they say, Starlink is absolutely awful) and I also don't really want to buy a static IP.
Just want a small instance with good uptime like rammy did but better moderation.

It's not his instance though, he's not an admin he can't do anything about it.
You'll no longer be able to retrieve content from the de-federated instance and they'll no longer be able to communicate with yours.

My account is actually on Rammy.site, though after what has happened I'm definately going to be moving on, I heard lemm.ee is pretty good.
It's a shame it had to come to this, I liked rammy.site very stable and almost never goes out, why do bigots have to ruin everything for us...
