Currently reading "The Last Watch" because I wanted some fun sci-fi, but the liberties the author is taking on physics and the universe makes it very hard to suspend my disbelief.
Looking at starting a re-read of "All Systems Red" in anticipation of the new Murderbot book coming out. I can't recommend this series enough
I love this. I tuned in to a little Sean Hannity on the radio on my drive home Friday and heard him rail against the selection of Weiss multiple times, while throwing out vague bullet points about why he's unacceptable.
My first reaction was that they're laying the groundwork for when this investigation comes up with nothing, or some really boring crimes (like firearms charges? The Republicans are about gun control now?) and they have to lay the blame on someone so the conspiracy machine can keep pumping out outrage.
Knowing this is a guy they wanted for the job until he started doing it makes it even more delicious, but as we know when Republican's beliefs come up against reality it's the reality that gives, so they'll have no problem ignoring that this was even ever a thing.
I'm upvoting you because you're making a good faith effort here. He's not reasoning through this and thinking over what you're saying, but someone else might be. I'm too tired to do it anymore myself though, so thanks for putting up the fight.
I can't believe the argument is the cops just decided to plant people to start an insurrection to storm the capitol just because they're so used to doing it for other things. BLM protests, I assume he's talking about...
16 years there. Once Boost stopped working I got off the site and migrated here. I've read threads that come up in Google searches, and looked at some specialty subs since, but nothing longer than 5 minutes every few days.
This is it exactly: the difference in the discussions and posts between when I joined a few weeks ago and now is striking. It's reminding me of early reddit before the Digg migration and I'm hopeful it will continue to improve
I'm not a big fan of too much tech in cars, I hate touchscreen climate controls, and I still drive a manual transmission; but using Android auto with maps and Spotify has been amazing. And the wireless mostly works most of the time.
Wilco used samples of it for their album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, the name of which comes from one of the clips. That got me into this whole phenomenon.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to do a double take at season 5. I figured it was around season 3.
