Haven't played it (or its sequel) myself, but I've heard this mentioned as one of the original games in this genre, potentially among those that paved the way for Ratchet & Clank (along with Blasto and maybe Jumping Flash, though Blasto is interesting in particular since the character looks a lot like Qwark from Ratchet). So I'd say yes, definitely - although from screenshots and gameplay footage, it seems like kind of a prototype of this idea, to be developed in later games.

I believe the name Onirism means "dreaming/experiencing hallucinations while awake", related to the word "oneiric" (dreamlike) or the Greek "oneiros" (dream), and has been applied to psychiatry and Romanian literature. Makes sense since the game is so dreamy and surreal. :)
I will add them in! Tbh Tomb Raider feels about as much like a platformer as Uncharted, Infamous, Sunset Overdrive, Mirror's Edge, or Assassin's Creed to me. Even Ocarina of Time actually. These are kind of semi platformer-y but more on-rails and without as much freedom of movement or what I consider genuine platforming. More climbing and exploring (or a lot of jumping around like Returnal, which honestly feels like Ratchet Rift Apart sometimes). Heavy Metal games look interesting. Thanks for your recommendations :)
Thanks, but I am looking for 3D platformers only. Not 2D platformers. Often they're lumped together which is sad. This resource would be useful in theory, but after putting in "third person", "platform" and "shooter" (there's no separate option for 3D platformer vs 2D platformer), I'm getting many results of games that don't seem to match what I'm looking for, including 2D games like Cartoon Wars: Gunner. However I did forget to mention Uncharted as having somewhat similar gameplay elements, although I wouldn't consider it a 3D platformer. I guess Zapper very very loosely meets some of the criteria, but it's more like a top-down Frogger-like game with some.. zapping. It's weird that there doesn't seem to be a way of differentiating games with 3D graphics from 2D graphics in general on this site. I guess I can check all of these hit-and-miss results one by one, but word of mouth recommendations probably work better here, especially for obscure games. Notably, many of the games I listed (such as Akimbot, one of the prime examples) aren't showing up under these filters even though they meet the parameters. I also forgot the upcoming game Pragmata is giving vibes but it's not showing up on that site under those filters anyway.

Reminds me of how people saw Okja as a simple adventure movie and tried really hard to ignore the message it was conveying about animal rights (the creators even went vegan for the movie but we're not ready for that convo...)

Well I'm in full speculation mode. Apparently GOG is still saying they'll ship the physical game in Q2, and the digital release is still officially slated for Q1. But Limited Run Games also said the physical copy would ship in December of last year before it got delayed, so it doesn't necessarily mean anything. I'm just wondering if it's likely it could get delayed again. There was also an interview with the creators of the game where they didn't really say anything about when it was releasing except explained the reasons for the delay.
If they're on track to release digitally in Q1, the last opportunity for that to happen is now this month (March). Is it really feasible that it could drop this month considering they haven't announced a specific release date yet (aside from the Q1 window they gave near the end of last year)? Surely they would first make a more accurate release date announcement, and then want there to be some time (some amount of notice given in advance) before it actually releases? Is less than 1 month even enough time between announcement & release for a game like this? If so what's the least time we can expect they would realistically leave it before announcing, 1 week before release? Seems like if it's going to meet the predicted window (which after they already delayed it past the previous one they may be disincentivised from missing again, also considering some reviewers have already played the game) wouldn't the date have to be announced any day now as per usual game release protocol?
