I feel like this post and highlighted quote requires more context. The parking lot is next to a church, most of the voices of dissent in the article are from people who go to that church and someone involved with another hotel being constructed not far away. The City Council voted 7-1 to approve the replacement of the parking lot with a hotel. Councilmember Nicole Speer, the one quoted above, is a member of the church who voted IN FAVOR of removing the parking lot.
Yikes, sounds like a nightmare. I don’t need a lot of planning, just a general idea of the plans for the day. Like if we’re near the ocean, is it a hang around and go to the beach day or is it a museum/tour and mini golf kind of day?
No wonder your government is running rough shod(sic) over you...
Since you talk about the 2nd Amendment and Open Carry, I’m just going to assume that you’re American, as am I. I could be wrong but that would mean you’re just a shill.
If we’re both American that means the same government is running roughshod over both of us. The only difference is you have a bunch of guns that have never used against the “government” and probably will never get used against them. So please continue to espouse your violence while hiding behind a computer screen.
Considering the original scenario is cops coming to arrest you, I don’t think you’ll get very far in “defending yourself”. But good luck in not dying in the shoot out with the cops.
I feel like this is meant to be some big gotcha moment but there are other legal areas where duration and language confer legal status such as in “common law” marriages. Couldn’t the WNBA add language to the eligibility rule that says that you have to “have claimed your gender as female for “x” number of years” or “undergone hormone replacement therapy for “x” duration”.
I get that the intention is forcing the WNBA to make a decision on the issue but it seems they’ll be able to thread the needle if they have a few smart people working on it.
In the end I don’t know and I don’t really care as I don’t watch much basketball, men or women, I just thought this was an interesting topic so feel free to disregard my ramblings.
This is it exactly. Everything she opposes is essentially a straw-man created by the right. But she uses those straw-men to justify her opinions as being “common sense’.
Perfect example:
It was the most extreme activist voices — those who called lesbians transphobic for only wanting to sleep with women and who prioritized trans women’s feelings over the safety of cisgender women — that I opposed.
The US is struggling to sell new cars and EV's make up only 10% of new cars sold.
I would love to buy an EV but a brand new car is too expensive and there’s not much in the way of reasonably priced, used EVs available so I’m currently sticking with the internal combustion engine.
I live in Denver and this has been an ongoing thing since Casa Bonita reopened, before the 2nd Trump regime and the latest season of South Park.
Stone and Parker seemed to be heavily involved with the renovation but seem to take a mostly hands off approach to the day to day management. Andrew Carnegie took similar action during labor disputes, letting others handle the dirty work while he fucked off to Scotland so he could appear to be outside of the issue.
I always liked Stone and Parker, I don’t know what their thoughts are but it’s not the best look. And to be fair, they are a bunch of “richers”
Worse than Nazi Germany or more stupid than Nazi Germany? If the Nazi’s did one thing well, it was bureaucracy and a capable bureaucracy would’ve gotten the ref through.
Those Greek chicks cosplaying as Egyptians? Puh-leaze
Who?

That’s a shame, I read it as “Yiannopolous [stabbed] by ICE”.
Do you do a lot of PCP?

I always thought of breadcrumbs as something that would lure a target down a path.

I don’t care about Russia and their gas problems. I just know that I now need a poster of jacked Morgan Freeman.

Well yeah, it’s on Amazon.
