A heartwarming video. Back in the day (during the Slackware era), these tech-allergic Apple "dudes" wouldn’t even try anything that remotely resembled Linux. These days, they mock it, but they still manage to test and document everything

bash scripting, light python programs, fixing software and hardware issues, learning Japanese, learning other things, writing applications, all the boring stuff and stuff need extreme repetition or data mining. Ideas comes from me, work is done by machine.

It is not always Bash. Zsh comes as a default with some Arch based distros like Manjaro (xfce) and Garuda, plus Kali of course. But what is the point to use PowerShell in Linux? .. Azure, Exchange or Windows servers or something else I don't get?

what is this? If something, it is low RAM that Linux handles extremely well ?!?

Well, to be honest, I went a little overboard and installed Cinnamon on Arch. My girly setup with 4gb can no longer do push-ups with one finger.

Good choice, man. Good choice. I have Arch and Manjaro, they're good, but there was a time when I was doing photography as a freelancer and I used Ubuntu Studio back then. The codecs are ready and instead of configuring, you can get to work.

Linux Mint is not harder for Grandma than windows 10 was. Granny just is used to use windows. Same with children. With less tech people when talking about Linux or choices, I just talk and choose Mint. If they evolve, they will know better. (btw, This is exactly the path that old-schoolers take to become Mint users .)

When you come from world business models, efficiency, where marketing sacrifices all the values for profit, your ideas look rational. However, ideological point of view, does Linux necessary need those people ( who obviously needs Linux )? This is a free world, you can choose exploitation, abuse and inefficiency if you want - Microsoft or Apple.

I think youtube changed internet a lot. It required whole new mindset to be able to spend time there. "things" were ready quite early but we needed to wait next generation to actually create some content to watch.

Congratulation! familiar list. The workload was quite surprising, wasn't it? How many google/gmail logins you had to change? Youtube to freetube? Or how you going with that?

To me META was quite hard to cut off because there is not really alternative to whatsapp. However META is probably the most toxic from those 5 so it felt best.

Good article! Thanks for sharing.
To me the real work was to change (gmail, google) login from every place I been in last 10 years. How many places have you logged with google, all the games, forums, apps... Below are the links where you can estimate the extent of the disaster :

I cut off the big 5 (Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, META, microsoft) and Adobe as an added bonus.
