Can you have this conversation slowly over time? Ask a few questions about their plans, maybe make a suggestion, mention other old parts who have handled planning in a mature way, and don't make a deal out of it if they don't want to take your ideas. I've found that sometimes you can plant an idea and people will warm up to those ideas and even decide it was their idea. Which is annoying, but gets the job done.

But yeah if you go into this expecting them to change a lifetime of emotional programming, you're gonna have a bad time.

That was my thought too, but I ran it through 3 detectors and they all think it's probably real. Probably 🤷

And then it couldn't perform for a few minutes — for another good degauss you had to wait a bit for another good one, like an orgasm

2 aunts love to pretend everything is fine, they excel doing that on funerals and weddings, then stab you in the back as soon as you're not within ear distance, either need drama to feel important or have way too much free time.

Okay? If shitty people do shitty things, let it roll off you like water off a duck's back.

It kinda sounds like you let what other people do affect you deeply. Maybe work on giving fewer fucks about people's drama and giving more fucks about what's important to you. I know that's easy for me to say, but it is an attitude that can be cultivated.

Cops are allowed to lie to you relentlessly. Even if they do something illegal like questioning you without reading you your rights, they know you'll have to fight it in court. Things are stacked in their favor pretty strongly. Even if you end up fighting them in court over a Miranda violation, that's a problem for the prosecutor, not the cop arresting you.

Be relentlessly polite to the cops while admitting nothing. They usually don't deserve politeness but it lessen the chance of them harming you.
