I like to think of the power of a piece of horror in terms of both intensity and duration. The supernatural things tend to put me in a "spell" temporarily, where I'm absorbed into that scary world and feel the horror. However, it all disappears when I think about my real-life worries. Media that horrifies through realism, however, will pop into my mind when I don't expect it, long after reading.

Oh I loved this idea of text functioning like a virus. I think the dragged-out prose really helped make the text feel invasive and like it's actually affecting your mind in some way. I love experimental writing!

Then I done messed up! My intention is to create the feeling that you're caught in battles between powerful and confusing forces and don't know who to trust.

Hi Margot, I'm glad I found this Lemmy original community. Great work growing it! It has much more subscribers than ones with the same name as subreddits (which would get more search traffic because of their names), so it's very impressive. You inspired me to try my hand at a story too!
