I don't think Christmas was as much about gift giving in Dickens time. I think it was more a time that your family gets to be together. He even alludes to this with Bob Crachit's daughter having to slave away at work and only getting to see family on Christmas. They don't really do gifts in the story, they just have a small meal together. It isn't until Scrooge changes his mindset that gifts start being much of a thing in the story.

Dickens was always focused on the poverty and suffering of the industrial age. I think he would object to our sense today of Christmas being so focused on gifts and not on time with family and friends

I have read it many times and I agree that the story is about a dream/nightmare Ebeneezer has on Christmas Eve. I always saw the story as an old rich man had who does not have much longer to live reflects on his life. He decides he still has time to try and change with what little time he has left.

I think it really could have been framed many ways. Many people reflect on their lives on New Year's Eve or their birthdays. I think Dickens just decided to choose Christmas for his story.

EDIT: In short, man nearing end of life has existential crisis in dream.

We are all made from matter ejected from a star that lives on and in matter from that star while receiving energy from that star.

Perhaps you have vim-tiny installed by default on your distro rather than just vim?

What testosterone really does is when your status is being challenged, testosterone makes you do whatever you need to do to maintain status. You can have an economic game where people get status by making generous offers and give people testosterone and they become more generous in the game. In other words, if you shot up a whole bunch of Buddhist monks with testosterone, they would run amok doing random acts of kindness all over the place.

Testosterone doesn't make you aggressive

I think it WAS a problem in older models. Caused me to get rid of my 2004 Forester. That being said, I still managed to get around 180,000 miles on it before it was an issue.

Forgot the Linux home server that was turned on and forgotten about but has been running continuously for decades of uptime and continues running off solar power even after civilization has ended.

Just discovered TinyAuth and it is fantastic. I am replacing Authentik with it because it has what I want but is much faster, smaller, and simpler. Also, the license is FOSS.

You don't need DHCP, you can just use DNS and then set up different blocking groups based on the device.

The problem with this solution is that is it opt in. You would need to change all the wifi settings on each device separately to point to Pi-Hole as the DNS. This is something that could easily be disabled as a 12 year old would probably be able to figure out how to change the settings on their mobile devices or computer with a Google search.
