Not sure about toilets around the world but at least in the US, the toilets in that study are only really used in public restrooms and the like, not really in a typical home. They flush faaar more aggressively than a home toilet, like a pressure washer vs a hose, so Iâm not sure itâs an exact comparison
Interesting. I suppose Iâll see if it happens again, luckily not too big a deal as Windows was more a convenience for a couple utilities I use, already found a Linux friendly way for one of them thanks to it borking itself recently. If theyâre intentionally doing that and giving me an excuse to rid myself entirely of Windows, I guess I wonât complain too much ahaha. I just chalked it up to the usual Windows shenanigans
Hah, I had written then deleted a part because the comment was already pretty long saying it almost has the same energy as âmy spare yachtâ at the moment. Reaaaally glad I had the foresight/luck with timing I did on keeping components around. Canât wait for some bubbles to burst
This is what I do, just a spare nvme drive thrown in an external enclosure. Rufus has an option called âwindows to goâ that installs the iso as opposed to making a bootable installer, and it gives an option to block Windows from overwriting local disks to avoid the boot loader issues too. Has worked quite well up until a point recently where it just refused to boot anymore with an unhelpful error despite not having been touched in months. No updates or changes since it worked before. Good ol windowsâŠ
And theyâre taking the human, creative jobs in a lot of ways. Not the menial jobs that many would probably rather vanish given a proper social safety net like UBI. Theyâre taking the jobs that define our culture and society. The artists, musicians, writers, those that entertain us in general, are having an increasingly hard time because some derivative AI slop costs a company pennies. âDerivativeâ being a very nice word for âstolen from these artists in the first placeâŠâ
In other words, AI is displacing the exact kind of avenues many humans would prefer if they had the time. Okay, got the rant out of my system for nowâŠ
Yeah.. canât say Iâm the biggest fan of living in an area where I have several examples within walking distance of me, it has left me feeling slightly on edge at times. I donât think itâd be taken too kindly if I started to get outspoken about politics so I just let it be
A lot of the nutters tend to advertise it at least. Super gung-ho patriot driving an oversized truck with Trump and flag stickers, maybe an actual flag, possibly open carrying, yard with one or multiple trump signs and likely American flags in case you forget which country youâre in, probably some cars on the lawn as decoration⊠you get the picture
I do sometimes wonder about that and ADD. I feel like my brain handles those immediate couple moments with a lot of clarity on how to react. I once knocked a can of pop off the edge of my desk and right onto my computer (with a mesh top), and I was already standing up to unplug the computer and flip it upside down to prevent dripping inside before the can even hit, just like an immediate processing and understanding of what the next step needs to be. Feels like those are the moments I can lock in and actually get things done. Suppose thatâs why I have to create a crisis to actually be productive, like leaving work till the last moment. Boy is it a rush the like 5% of the time itâs helpful!
Iâll just stick with the one that doesnât combust thanks
