It feels like i didn’t have the VII for a solid year before the service got turned off. The iPAQ had a docking sleeve for a cf wireless card. That was when i felt like a mad pimp. 🤓
I had the Palm VII, which had a mobile data connection and an antenna you would flip up. I felt like a god. When i “upgraded” to the Compaq ipaq i felt that the world was my oyster!
Sounds like a fun project. As other commenter stated, those brackets really make the best use of an old case. Can’t think of a better solution for that. For power, you can grab one of those 200w USB power/charger adapters, put it in the case and feed the power cable out the back. Might look a little janky, though.
I had an ant problem and read about mixing borax with flour and sugar to make a dough. Roll this dough in to little balls, about the size of a BB, and leave a bunch near the ant sources. They go crazy for the stuff and take it back to their nest. Except borax kills them in quick order. I was skeptical, but damn it if it didn’t work like a champ. Good luck… they can be resilient!
I don’t know… between that massive bezel and taking up the gpio power, that’s kind of a drag. Price is right, however. And i’m sure my petty issues don’t speak for the masses!
That’s fine, but they did what they said and if you want to turn off your credit line because dishonest fuckfaces are stealing from you, you don’t have a lot of choices. I offered up what I did as an anecdote of how I accomplished it.
If you want to freeze your credit with the three major agencies, I called Experian first and they said they were sending the request to the other two agencies. I did this for another reason earlier in the year. Your mileage may vary now as I hear they’re getting crushed with requests.
Get ready to answer a grip of extremely specific questions to prove who you are.
I just set it up as well. Nothing groundbreaking, but clean interface. Haven’t used the btc via email function yet.
My only concern would be if there was some sort of breach that affected my proton credentials (yes, I realize the odds are low), then that would also give access to my wallet (and passwords, but not using that).
This might be good for a hot spending wallet, but not sticking anything substantial in there.
The turnaround from screen to home media has gotten short enough to where it’s fine to wait for a high quality version. Cams were good in the 80s when you bought the VHS tapes from some dude selling them out of a box down in the subway. Though the odds of brining home a blank were pretty good!
Anyone try this on Android TV-like box? Perhaps I will. Though will be kind of hard to usurp the Stremio/Debrid/Torrentio/Orion setup. Might be a nice Plan B for when Debrid lays an egg.
While cheap healthcare here is nice, without private insurance (pricey) it can be months to get an appointment with a primary care doctor. I had to fire one doctor who just refused to make progress on treating my conditions or help in the aid of persistent pain. Many doc offices operate as patient mills, where you can wait up to 90 minutes past your appointment time to be seen for 5 minutes. Office gets the pay from insurance, and you need to return 3 months later with the same ailments. I was stuck in that system for a year before I found a new doc that would listen to me and take me on as a patient.
So, it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. It is a better setup than in the US, where insurance has ruined the industry, but unless you’re diligent about getting a good doctor to take you on, or pay for private insurance, It’s just a grind. A lot of chopping, but no chips are flying.
The system here is better, but the treatment you get in the US is ultimately more beneficial.
