I've been convinced he should go for a couple months now. These draws are abysmal, and there hasn't been any distinct playstyle that has arisen from his changes.

The guehi transfer is a bit misleading because it includes a huge sign-on bonus and wages that are difficult for any non-oil club to match. But it's hard to imagine our current form didn't have any impact on the decision.

+1 for Xabi

He just doesn't have the people skills to keep a hungry midfield/attack motivated like klopp did. I get wanting to change the team to play to your strengths, but I do think he changed too much too fast.

The poor results this season in my mind have been caused by a few things.

  1. Slot wants our midfield to press less aggressively, a departure from our klopp system. This is a good idea in the long run as it plays more to his strengths
  2. We got a very unbalanced set of players this summer, very attack heavy
  3. Jota's death

The combination of these I think has created a lot of uncertainty in the team, which I think could only be managed effectively by a truly generational manager (like klopp). I don't think there's a better man for the job right now, and I have a good feeling we'll be back in a big way in the coming months as things get sorted and settled
