if that is the unifiedpush provider then that is the one used as you already see inside the provider app, if there are several providers installed, you can see and switch providers in the notifications settings of arcanechat
2 - when I force stop AC (I don’t have allow background usage enabled), notifications don’t work (despite UP) - why?
this is normal, and the same behavior for official google push notifications, if you force-kill an app the system assumes you really got annoyed by the app/push notifications and doesn't keep waking up the app on push notifications, just swiping away the app from recent apps is the way you normally close apps, this has nothing to do with ArcaneChat but how Android system works
ArcaneChat is just a Delta Chat client, so it should work as normal, if something got "corrupted" then it was an incompatibility between the newer version and older versions and would have happened for old delta to new delta as well 🤔
I think it is already possible to run a relay with IP only, without any domain at all! not sure if this is officially documented yet because is in the works, better go ask here: https://github.com/chatmail/relay
hi, with the laptop it is easier to exploit, but in the case of phones it is not so easy: the pin/lock is asked when someone tries to add a second device or create a backup so they can't just snap your profile there
besides that, to completely block access to certain apps, not only ArcaneChat/DeltaChat, android has a feature called "Private space" where you can protect with your lock/pin apps from being opened or even visible at all
in case it was in a laptop where it is much easier to steal since even if you could show an unavoidable warning about the profile transfer as discussed at https://support.delta.chat/t/dont-allow-to-delete-device-messages-chat-and-some-of-its-messages/4693 also the program data folder could be just copied, this is a problem of the low security of desktop systems, better never let anyone use your laptop in the same session as your personal session, you could have a guess session/user for such situations
if the worse happened and you suspect someone took your profile (which you would notice because some messages you didn't read are not notified and appear as already read), there is no safe way out of it, since your identity lives in your pockets in your devices (the encryption identity) and not in a server, if someone gets it the only safe way out is to create a new profile and tell everyone to block the older contact and remove the old contact from all groups etc
the file likely have .webp extension in your device, but extensions are meaningless, you can rename any file to .webp but that doesn't make it a webp, the file was named with .webp extension but in reality it was an animated png, when you uploaded it here probably this site figured out the mime-type and changed the extension of the uploaded file accordingly 😁
that is not webp, it is animated png which is not supported at the moment, animated webp is supported, you can convert the animated png to animated webp online, it actually even makes them much smaller
also notice that the right place to ask such questions is https://support.delta.chat/ if you want the developers and more DC users to see your questions
hi, normally all email should appear in ArcaneChat, if it doesn't is because you already "pressed some buttons" check the "show classic email" option in advanced settings and change it back to "all"
some of these options together with the inbox/DeltaChat folder are going to be removed in future versions to simplify more things and avoid problems like what you are experiencing
difference with Delta Chat: the videocall buttons and icons uses a video-camera icon instead of a phone-call icon which can cause unexpected situations "woahhh I was thinking it was an audio call and picked it but a video of me was sent out"
PRO TIP: you can click the notification (without clicking "answer" button) or the incoming call message bubble in the chat to open the call in preview mode and be able to disable video/audio before picking/answering the call

mmmh in my experience animated webp is much smaller than animated PNG
