Is this community intended to be exclusively genuine, or is stuff intentionally lacking proficiency okay too? Think like quick doodles, shitposts, maybe drawing with your foot for fun.
Absolutely the second. I was having it in mind as more of a playground, where nobody should have to worry about whether whatever they did fits this place, as long as the submission abides by the rules.
Are you okay with someone taking some control over the presentation of the spirit of the community (e.g. sidebar, pinned rules post, graphics)?
Absolutely! I just want this community to exist. :)
Do we leave all submissions without scrutiny, leading to any popularity of the community ending up with technical proficiency posted anyway—defeating the entire purpose—or do we draw lines in the sand about stuff that’s “too good” to post here?
I want to be as hands-off as possible. So, I think, right now there is no 'too good' either. If it takes over and gives visitors the impression that this community has a quality standard, I'd say thinking about the right kind of action to take would be reasonable to keep a right kinda spirit in the place.
I feel like you get and agree with what I had in mind for this place, so I’m gonna make you mod, and if possible, give you the same powers as I have here.
Feel free to change things as you see fit. Should I, or other folx have an issue with anything we can always contact you. :)
Was pretty overwhelming in the shops with the choices and all. Never liked clothes shopping.
Only went for top pieces, with the blouse in the picture and a similar one in green. Also a little vest and shirt underneath.
The vest absolutely sucks. Definitely gonna return that one. And while the blouses both seem a size too small, I was so happy trying them on. omfg. That this is even possible. I actually lack the words to articulate myself.
What she says about organising to help poor folx...
Here in this country in the middle east, where things are in full-swing Ramadan, people gather to prepare tables and bring food to feed EVERYONE, every single day. This is not organised by the government, but by every day people. The only thing that brings them together is a belief that it's important. Some do it with no regard for others, but simply because they think that's what god wants them to do, and so on. And I don't subscribe any religion, or wanna fan Islam. But I think it shows what power we have.
I've felt more intense connection in more open relationships with massive breaks and stuff than "being together" ones.
I've made out with random people on the street, had short flings, one-sided relationships, etc. all these experiences helped in a crazy number of ways. I definitely have a very clear idea of what works for me and what doesn't now, which I didn't have back then.
It actually disgusts me to think of someone having a side-piece. I think it's dehumanizing.
But I'm not here to tell you what to do :)

Go crazy!
Be safe.
But go crazy!

Yeah, visibility/exposure carries risks. But it also provides protection.
I decided not to care. It's a risk I'm willing to take, and whatever may come, I won't regret it.
All I wanted to do was make people feel some fun and giggles.
To keep people down, they literally have algorithms to make people miserable and hateful. So in a way, you can become a target, and I'm not even joking. Also, people just wanting to kill light, I guess.
If you decide to keep this account, I'd suggest not deleting it in the event that something should happen, and then document everything. There's more motivation for a crime in darkness than one in broad daylight.
I'm sorry if this is a bit rough to read. I don't think anything will happen, and certainly hope so. But I thought I'd share some basic security I believe in, for the rather open way in which you engage with this platform, to maybe make you feel safer.
No, I don't. That was referring to the parent post.
Thanks for the lesson in not engaging in arguments unless absolutely necessary. What a fucking shit show.
Then can you, please, extend your respect and kindness to not indulge the actual transphobic misinformation there? As well as not stoking the flames over a single downvote? This shit is derailing the fun thread.
Just wanna add to this, I had to learn to cut people off who simply give me bad vibes as close friends.
Home and your close circle should be a good place. You don't need reasons to kick em out. So if you're not up to some serious business, where near perfect grammar is expected, then I'd say, screw em. Write how you want, as you long as you are happy with the respect, etc. that you are providing, and just ignore or block. This is your free time, and you're not hurting anyone by blocking them.

This is the second time I'm hearing stark criticism of The Canary. Thanks for the info, I'll try to be more critical with their stories.
Euphoooooooria 😊

It's to help visualize their true place in society.
Second to the left from the bottom right looks pretty cool to me, with that one feline eye :)

Lmao, longer than my longest relationship ever.

Cool progression in this one. Also almost screamo! :)
Ooooh, I'll have to look into that! Thanks :)
I'm glad you found one who is (at least somewhat) working :) and thank you for the kind words. It's really sweet :)
Urgh, I really do not enjoy being fooled by AI.
Sorry folx.
Thanks for the heads up. That's good to know.

Hah, of course he's from Brighton. (Murderer lyrics)
They are pretty chill bombastic, not deranged bombastic, though! But I won't complain. Thank you for the recs! :)

Oh, you bet I'd post it to !unixsocks@lemmy.blahaj.zone !
Thank you for this write-up. Pretty cool story to read by itself :)
That's also what I have the most qualms about (or only qualms, kinda).
Thankfully the climate here is rather hot, without long, or particularly cold winters, so I can keep it light for now (wallet wise, too) :)
