I want the bubble to burst too, but the reality is that LLMs ARE useful, can be very useful in certain tasks, but not at the level everyone was expecting. This bubble won't burst, but it will deflate a bit, not as much as we'd want. It's here to stay i'm afraid.
It depends on how the windows installation was configured. My work machine is bloated as hell, 7gb idle, but my personal pc starts at 5.5. However when you do a VM and only give it 8gb of ram, you will see it hover around 3.5-3.9. Windows caches a lot of crap, but it can "make room" if you are asking for more ram. My Cachy on KDE launches at 2, which like I said isn't that light either, although a lot less
But having tested Windows Insider builds for months now, hands-on with the new decluttered Search and the faster File Explorer, I’m inclined to believe Microsoft can pull this off.
What a nonsensical statement - they make it sound like the windows properties dialog was WebView2/Electron, but in fact it was Win32 api; WinUI is going to be much heavier. The bloat continues
I'm not saying I don't think it's possible, it's just that training models is not done by just Elon and a laptop on the sofa with a box of tissues - it's probably a small army of professionals that would all be aware of and have access to child porn - I just don't think (or don't want to believe?) there's no one who would blow the whistle
The more obvious answer was of course to distract from the epstein-trump files, but I am not sure it was that simple.
Certain people are claiming Epstein was primarily an arms dealer (state sanctioned) and a sex trafficker second - and frankly the evidence does seem to support that. However he did not get so influential by himself, it's possible certain characters helped him, not least through Ghislane Maxwells father, which is claimed to have been a triple spy for multiple countries, one of which is israel.
Now i'm not much for conspiracy theories and i've got no racial/religious bias against the israelis, but the Mossad is pretty powerful and it is plausible that it may have used people like Epstein to get dirt on various people (kompromat style). This could also explain why Trump is the first president that accepted Netanyahu's pitch to attack Iran, but he is a fucking moron after all so who knows?! He may have been emboldened by his success in Venezuela.
We will likely never know for sure, but imo this is the best guess given the most plausible claims i have seen so far
Hell, I detected a sharp acceleration in global warming 🥵

And before you know it they vote some idiot in power
May the gods hear you

Microsoft has already rebuilt the File Explorer Properties dialog in WinUI, Microsoft’s native UI framework that’s significantly lighter than WebView2 since it doesn’t need to spin up a browser engine just to render a dialog box, and confirmed plans to bring more of the OS onto the framework.

Linux desktops aren't that light either
Maybe you're on to something. Recruiters have started chasing me in the past few weeks (UK)
After the plunge, it's still +30% YTD, big deal
Yes but then how will the execs make money

This is the grownup and correct answer imo
Literally; i'm dying 😂
Honestly I think that's what I'll do eventually
I'd love that but if you marry the fecklessness of a CEO with the ruthlessness of an AI you get weekly layoffs 😂
A reverse kettle *
Oof size >>>>>>
It has been observed with certain species of monkeys, that should give you an indication 😄
That is certainly one factor, Trump does primarily act on pride, and Obama lives rent free in his tiny brain
