At this rate, I'm leaning towards lemmy.zip or piefed.social. Neither of those instances are the target of defederation campaigns, so I can be sure this community will be accessible to everyone. I'm just a little concerned that either instance could shut down in the same manner as lemm.ee.

I'm tempted to just move back to !bluesky@lemmy.ml. I am not interested in constantly hopping between instances when one shuts down, and I know that lemmy.ml will stay up as long as Lemmy is still being maintained.

However, I moved to lemm.ee for a reason. I wanted to be on a large instance that's not associated with partisan politics. What are your guys' thoughts?

In my opinion, this is half a step backwards because it removes the need for organizations to self-verify by setting their domains as a username. I'm afraid many just won't bother now, and users will be more reliant on Bluesky PBLLC to tell real accounts from fake accounts.

It would be way better if any organization could be a verifier, and users could individually decide which verifiers they trust.
