Ok. Is using AI compatible in the slightest with the very idea of Solarpunk?
I'd say no - either 80% of commenters here are migrants from other communities or you should really rethink your life.
(Really, defending AI power usage!? It's a waste regardless if it uses 2 million tokens or 1)
Well, that's both demobilising and sad.
I know honesty, realism and all that but somehow can't stop thinking - there are forces building myths about glorious past, great golden ages of ancestors where the small listened and worshipped the GOOD elites and perfect prophets/sons of god.
And they are very successful.
Can't we have A LITTLE hope?
I have only induction stoves for 15 years now and the only thing that "sucks" is
a) old electric that just required time to get used to
b) touch control panel instead of buttons/knobs
AI researcher "wisdom" as basis for the article? Check
Wall Street Journal article about how "Europe is dying" because of Renewables. Check.
I thought Vox was a good source in the past, but now I'm not so sure.
And I AGREE with the thesis in the title of this article.
Almost no one mentioned roller shutter. They need to be installed outside to actually work, but they are very good at reducing temperature inside (I had them installed on my southwest facing windows). Air conditioning is ok, but it's also such a lazy solution and it seemingly prevents people from even trying to come up with different ideas.
Spineless. How did the conservatives and liberals manage to keep convincing European voters that they are something else than big tech& trump&putin bootlickers, I'll never understand.
I had the same phase last year (and I can't say I fully exited it yet). They all use the one most efficient build and you really have to look for this one thing that tells them apart 😅
Yep, agreed with the previous commenter. +18 means that temperature is 18°C higher than the norm for June (in that area)
Ireland swelters under 26° and full sun, which is definitely unusual here, it should be 15°C and rainy.
AI craze in "Europe" (not all Europe) is another example of some people blindly following USA for no real reasons. There is political fight right now and we have to decide whether we will forge our own better destiny or fall prey to American ruling class of tech bros, billionaires and conservatives who are their executive branch.
Oh, come on. No acceleration IST actually caused that problem. Ignoring hundreds of small problems for the sake of profit and sloth caused it.
And it's not really worse than the alternative, just a bit different
I remember that video had quite a lot of good information https://youtu.be/B3bBvPXPCyg?is=ZGU06vzwgrQX6udo (farmers ways of dealing with heat stress)
Personally I think that is great, ending societal domination of "early bird" people sounds very enticing
Well, you know it's a poor countries problem, rich north will be totally insulated from any of this (sarcasm)

Nah, I think that you wasted enough of my time with your bullshit xD
What do you know about history of tabacco and smoking?
Links to older studies are literally in the first line of the article.

Hiker decided to keep checking himself after hiking - decision criticized by bloodsucking ticks

Looks like a curlew 😊 Godwits would have straight breaks.
Skin cancer. But you know, I also like to be protected from sun while not being fried alive inside of my clothes.
