I wouldn't necessarily say that VAT and shipping lets the costs explode. On top of the 26,99€ I only paid 11.99€ for shipping and none for the tax. Of course thats still ~50% of the watch but 38,98€ is still a lot less than 60€.
Of course you have to be patient cause the shipment takes several weeks.
