also, the best resource I know of for interactive help is the forum at pd patch repo... https://forum.pdpatchrepo.info/ the community is the largest I have found and the help is probably more helpful and less snarky than other routes.
I think it is entirely possible with FOSS. this kinda reminds me of the situation 10-15 years ago when people were trying to make their windows laptop look like a mac... because mac was more "respected" in audio circles... FOSS will work for professional audio... how many sneers and eyerolls it solicits from others who paid $$$$, who knows.. prob a good bit depending on the circles you roll through.
20 years ago, I used a Roland MC303 with an Electrix Warpfactory vocoder... eventually added an Atari 1040ST and a laptop running NI generator 1.5, and I built and used a Paia Fatman synth for a while...
now I only use computer, but hate myself twice for the 2 times i got rid of the warpfactory!
another one ive heard a hadfull of recently--- Now and Xen Podcast... https://nowandxen.libsyn.com/
this is about microtonal and xenharmonic music, largely but not exclusively electronic.
I tried it.. was really impressed... really like the look and feel, was able to find stuff very easy despite massive menu options... it seemed awesome... but i scrapped the idea that led me to reaper so i havent played with it in a while.
i think it might be because you are from a different instance... it may just be taking a while or there may be some glitches.. just a guess. I had similar problems when trying to subscribe to something on an instance other than waveform... and its still hung-up.
there is another channel, "cheeto moskeeto" , that has been helpful and is often recommended, but the tutorials are 12 years old and i believe he uses Pd-extended so alot has changed, but still worth a look... https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL12DC9A161D8DC5DC
thanks for your time! all the best!
this is an amusing watch even if you dont care about mixing... or already know the subject matter. hilarious and insane!
