Never heard of these platforms. Did you work out how they compare? For me the draw of slsk is finding almost anything, including very obscure music, because of its dedicated userbase of filehoarders. Do you think the other platforms could offer that? I always like knowing of alternatives
Obviously I understand the extreme depravation and exploitation which Haiti has been subjected to for more than a century to give rise to this situation.
Also the constant dedication to downvoting seems like the behaviour of someone who is paid to do it. Otherwise why would you do that, normal people would get bored right? I don't go and actively seek out online communities I disagree with to downvote their posts. That would be such a pathetic way to spend my time
It could be US government actors. They would only need to have a handful of people on the job doing fedposting and they would be very visible on Lemmy compared to other platforms because of the small userbase
Atm big on experimental music, electro acoustic improv, onkyokei (somewhat a historically specific term but just this aesthetic generally). At other times I like various electronic and dance musics, classic jungle, UK garage, breakcore (both classic and sewerslvt core), free jazz, yeah. Fair bit
So Spanish is not white but Italian is. And also Lebanese?? How the designers of these questions think they can get any meaningful data whatsoever from these questions is mind boggling.
I have found it really useful for helping resolve interpersonal conflict, such as with partners or friends or so on. Also I think it would be useful to help with internal conflicts as well. Dialectical behavioural therapy is a type of psychotherapy for example that is supposedly very effective for personality vulnerabilities, although this might not be materialist specifically. I'm not knowledgeable on the topic but it's quite interesting.
Have you looked into the modding scene much? I think there's a lot of fan content that explores different aspects of the world. Though I can't say I've played much of them myself.
Started reading Fanon's 'Wretched of the Earth'. So far just reading the preface by Jean Paul Sartre which is already very good, I imagine this was ground breaking and very exciting when it was released, during the time of great optimism in the "third world", the Bandung conference etc. For fiction I'm reading The Three Body Problem by Liu Cixin.
I really struggle with fiction generally. I usually find it very hard to pursue fiction for some reason.
Wechat is good for vegging out. I find it's far more international than Western social media. I routinely see shorts from all over the world, Central Asia, Europe, Africa, East Asia .
Are you keen on methamphetamine? 😆

Yep that's a long one for sure.

Yeah, there's definitely professionals in the mix sometimes though.

Something I'm aware of but try not to think about
Yes it is. You're just conditioned to think politics is this inconsequential mental game that has no impact on people's lives.

Jesus that's the slogan?? That sounds extremely fascist.
Is it possible to do the well paid job for a while and grind it out to save some money then switch to the lower paid one after a few years?
I don't know if you're just being cheeky but this is not a useful approach at all.

Give us your report when you do. I'd be happy to hear an alternative perspective from a comrade
Love how their endgame is literally just making libs cry. There is no end they won't go to for that goal.
