None of the systems I advocated were undermined by stuffed pockets, they were undermined by a capitalist country militaristically destroying a new nation, a capitalist country that has 50 percent of the ENTIRE WORLDS military spending.
That's an important detail not to gloss over.
Revolutionary Catalonia had a wonderful system, the zapatistas have a wonderful system, neither were undermined by what you claim. I'm anti-red fascism, the Soviet union was evil. You just boldly assumed anarchists don't exist, I agree that they were fundamentally doomed, but anarchists have no such fuckups.
Furthermore do you honestly believe capitalism is not susceptible to stuffed pockets??
People have tried alternate systems, some have even gone extremely well until they are destroyed by capitalists
The fact of the matter is, the only reason there isn't another system is because capitalists have gone out of their way to destroy every other system that has been tried.
You can't make a fair comparison when you factor in that capitalists already control the world.
Even democratically elected communists were destroyed by the US government.
It's necessary because the website is transparent, if you were to federate with an instance, you'd need this information in order to moderate your instance, in order to check for bots, and various other things, that's the only reason it exists.

Really, what it should come down to as an individual is that all of the x11 devs left to work on Wayland because x11 is unmaintainable.
Use Wayland if it works for you, if you find something that doesn't work, go back to x11 and find the issue tracker and switch back if you care for the benefits later.
The benefits:
A better security model
More efficient rendering
Better animations
Better support for multi displays (mixed refresh rate/dpi)
HDR (soon)
Better color management (soon)
The only problems I have currently is sway doesn't support single window capture and the XWayland clipboard isn't great.
No, these are projects to improve the state of lemmy, they are in order
tafkars-lemmy, this will allow reddit apps to work with lemmy by simply replacing the URL, essentially. Meaning we'll have all the 3rd party apps that reddit broke.
automatically staying on your instance when provided links to others, this will make it so that you don't get kicked to another instance when somebody gives you a link to a community, they're also adding instance-agnostic linking.
the final thing automatically compiles communities into lists, so that you can easily find all of the communities of a certain type and subscribe to them all automatically, and look at them all at once.
Undermined by stuffed pockets?

Buy a house, start my reptile projects, throw extras at the fediverse, the fediverse succeeding is very important long-term.

Once this lands it'll be all the positives and none of the downsides, so, meh.
Eventually Lemmy will be better than kbin based on the rate of development, I'd say give it another chance in a few months.
https://github.com/florisboard/florisboard/pull/2209 it's actually coming really soon, he spent a year working on learning NLP, and it's finally in the implementation phase.
Uhhh....
Yeah, I hate it when people don't realize that only my opinions are facts.
How would they even exclude AI?
There's no way to detect if art is AI other than guesswork/inference/hands.

Someone please mirror? I'm done giving reddit traffic
I'll be getting this if the display is 120hz, if not, one more generation for me.
I'm not sure I understand, what are we worried they might do with this?
What's happening?
...good point, i'm dumb.
