Same brother. I was once a Gentoo using anarchist but now I spend more time getting stuff done and less time tweaking my setup.

As I get closer to 50 years old I begin to understand this. I still choose to go out most days but I start to see the appeal of just... Not.

Yep your rarely used vacation house needs an extra step given how rarely it's used.

Passwords are a miserable and lazy solution. The point was; they are cheap and easy to implement. I highly recommend dropping them whenever possible and switching to Passkeys, oAuth, SAML anything even a tiny bit harder to compromise.

More like using a key that hasn't been used in I over 30 days and needing to wait on a text/email.

Also text or email is a bad second factor and an implementation problem. TOTP is better. Passkeys way better and are so simple once you start using them.

I enjoy a buttery coffee on a blue moon. Not for health reasons. I just like it. What's the arthritis risk though?

Edit: Google told me apparently some people's arthritis is worsened by saturated fat. TDIL

Go live your life. Make some mistakes worth talking about then come back.

Still working on it. Turns out all the stuff I was so scared to do with my life wasn't so dangerous after all.

I install Fedora Workstation and change nothing. I'm pretty happy with GNOME in that case. KDE has been too fiddley for me the last few times I tried it. It's there a distro that has a default KDE setup that feels minimal and out of the way?

A kebob is made from a grown creature with more capacity for suffering than a recently conceived fetus. So if you're willing to waste a kebab, I don't see the problem with a voluntary abortion.

The relay feature is terrible though. It ruins video quality for any stream over 1mbps unless you pay and then it still ruins any stream over 2mbps. Any good plex server will have direct connect enabled just like jellyfin.

What's the security risk you worry about having a plex media server or jellyfin server listening on the Internet?
