Honestly to me it sounds like too much of a hassle keeping up with the conditions of all these PTs just in case you may want something specific one day that you can't find public. Only makes sense to bother with PTs if you constantly want stuff that you can't grab public and have the time to jump in on the new hot torrents that a lot of people would like to download so you ramp up the seed ratio (sounds too competitive for my liking)

Like how do you keep up with requirements if you're only gonna grab stuff from there a few times a yearwhen you can't find it public? And with so many PTs too, not just 1

The question was do you just use a torrent client like Qbittorrent to download stuff with the private trackers like you would with downloading from 1337x for example. Somebody else answered it but they said you need to wait for a time window when they accept new users or you need to know somebody who's already using the tracker to get you in so it's gonna be hell for me to get into PTs

The thing is, loveforlandlords wasn't about actually loving landlords. It was stuff like "Oh single mother? Time to increase rent", satire from the perspective of the landlord. Then the new mod came in and he was like "Nah fuck this" and turned it into landlordlove 2 electric boogaloo

Loveforlandlords was like boozecruisers, satirising something a lot of people dislike. Now loveforlandchads is the good one and landlords is a dogshit sub

Yeah. Also I remember when loveforlandlords went from a shitpost sub for making memes about landlords from the perspective of the landlords to a cringe sub about non-jokingly hating on landlords because some degenerate couldn't fathom the existence of such a sub, even tho there's a sub for serious hating on landlords already. He became the main mod, kicked everybody else and the others made loveforlandchads instead

Just like this, Reddit kicked DB0 and he made the Lemmy server

Can't force people to use Reddit but they can make mods open subs or else they get booted and replaced by good little lap dogs. That's why DB0 opened up on Lemmy. But I'll never know why they force opened PIRACY lol

Reddit staff wants to bring down stuff like piracy subs, they want you to break the rules en masse so they can shut it down. Sure we can say "oh boo hoo we have Lemmy" but how many people don't? How many people won't bother with Lemmy? How many don't know about it? How many people will DL from Steamunlocked? How many will torrent from the Bay using Bitlord? The Megatgread is still crucial info that needs to be accessible to as many people as possible

If you read the Megathread piracy will be second nature but if you don't and then get malware after malware, at some point you'll say "fuck it" and stop, which will deter a lot of people

"Why I pirate" was so annoying. It was like a lamp to the edgy moths who loved to bullshit how they're thieves and criminals and aren't afraid to admit it. Homie you're copying somebody else's copy of somebody else's copy of somebody else's copy of a bunch of files, you aren't slicing Spanish sailors' throats and plundering sugar, rum, food and drinking water from merchants and trading vessels
