Nationals policy isn’t bad , it’s just not targeted for example if my business needed a new machine to boost productivity realistically I would have already done the business case to see if the numbers are going to stack up. Nationals policy won’t change the business case, if it makes sense, the 20% isn’t the difference between viable and non-viable in most cases. Always exceptions of course. It will be interesting to get a the details on what labour is planning
I don’t own a SUV I own an EV which is another type of vehicle that gets blamed for wrecking roads due their weight. Roads are designed around the largest vehicle that commonly use them. For example in suburban neighbourhoods that would be a garbage truck. Would SUVs increase road wear sure, but Increased traffic and less road maintenance would be bigger factors then SUVs.
This makes me furious that they can do this without a cost comparison of the other options on the market (renewable and non-renewable)
I could live with this if I knew they had compared all the options on the table showed their math and they gave some solid reasons for this choice; But they did none of this. At best commercial users will get their power price a bit more predictable. Residential users will be paying the “levy” so commercial users have more certainty about power cost.
I won’t start on how we are 100% reliant on offshore companies to supply LNG.
Not throwing shade here, but i don't know a single person (farmer or not) in a disaster situation that would not want the government to fix the roads, maybe a road is not fixable... but if i had a apartment, house, cottage, batch, farm at the end of a road i would like the council/government to fix the road to my place, if they couldn't that would be a big deal and i would be unhappy. The individuals affected by this may have supported or opposed climate action, it doesn't change their current situation that they are still in.
100% this. The internet before business/corporations understood how it worked was a wonderfully ugly (by today's standards) source of information. It was really possible to get global reach as an individual if you created something interesting. Search engines just indexed at that point, no buying key words to get on the front page. If you made the best "something" out there it would organically find its way to the top of search engines.
I was a firm believer that it was going to change the world giving individuals a chance to get their ideas out to the world, give small businesses global reach. It did change the world just not in the way i had hoped.
Guy being passed should be in the left lane. He is filming with his phone while driving and is speeding (technically).
Seymour is speeding faster. Is undertaking, while undertaking is not illegal, it is a driving convention that people expect because that's how people are taught. People generally are doing checks in their middle and right mirrors, anyone on the left is less likely to be seen.
The main thing covered is the actual chain of events from the "black box" (my word for it) transcribed from the voice recordings from the report. Basically there was a lack of training, the crew didn't figure out that the ship was still on autopilot until it was way too late.
The Crew had control of the throttle but not control of the helm direction. So when the crew thought they were doing a full reverse they were actually making the problem worse. The crew went up to 100% throttle because they thought they had changed helm direction but in reality they we're just getting to the reef quicker because autopilot still was in control of the direction of the ship.
They didn't follow procedure didn't check if the autopilot was off and didn't discover this until after they had hit the reef. There is way more detail then that but basically that is the TLDR.
It's quiet here, I think there is around 60-70 unique users a day. Personally I like the fact that my home isn't crowded. It hasn't stopped me interacting with posts from elsewhere, but it depends on what you want out of your instance
I think it is one of the more interesting recent distro's. Gaming set up out of the box. it has one of the easier zfs on root install options. Has plasma 6 which a lot of "major" distro's do not have in their stable release yet.
I tried to use it on my laptop but i have a piece of hardware catchy doesn't like. Dev's were helpful when i was trying to get it to work, but we didn't figure it out then. I now know what was causing the problem, so maybe i'll give it another try.

There seems to be a lot of upset people on the right and the left because of the fact that top can potentially swing either way.
“You don’t know what you are going to get”
Policy wise top appears to be centre left, I think it’s a good thing for nz politics as a whole if they get in.
Claims on youtube that Iran has fired warning shots (2x balistic cruise missiles). No information about any outcomes yet.

Pretty sure it transport trucks and lorries that do most of the damage, but sure blame SUVs everyone hates those right?
This appears to be fake news from the US and Israel based on other sources.

They are both in the wrong here.

you beat me to it nikki blows 731 million to cancel a project that NZ needed, because it didn't line up with her party's "values"
12005km from my place of birth where I still have family. But home is where I live
The Americans who moved to NZ before COVID and haven't visited the US in awhile, may not appreciate how much prices have gone up there.
Prices in NZ have gone up, but in % terms a lot of other countries prices have gone up more %wise.
Other countries prices started lower then NZ prices but the pricing is now closer then it ever has been.
Although I would prefer if everyone's prices went down rather then all of us paying a Kings Ransom for groceries.
Thanks for the work you do Dave.

Please stop, a break, just a little break from the superhero genre, please 🙏
This rumor sounds like a crypto pump and dump.
Please buy Intel stock so we can sell ours!!

So does anyone know if the fork has been implemented or not?
