aggh i don't open that menu a lot so that's probably why i didn't see it :bc_smilomsweat: it makes more sense to me to have it on the profile page but if others find it more intuitive for it to be in the dropdown, at least i know now!
hi again Mia! i have been enjoying the emoji picker improvements very much! :bc_happie:
i had another QoL idea: there doesn't currently seem to be a simple way to see an overview of one's scheduled posts, so if you wanted to edit or reschedule a post, you have to trawl through your top-level posts, both scheduled and already public. which can get confusing as there isn't really a way to distinguish them from each other aside from using templated/dated titles. scheduling a post displays it as published [x time ago] in one's own profile, just like any other post.
so, it would be handy if there was either a clear indicator like the future publication date, or a separate tab for the scheduled posts to display them in an orderly way, or even a calendar view of them. i think it could be quite useful for both community mods and regular users! but also no pressure! :bunhdheart:
almost always, i don't have anyone to spend it with and it also isn't something i have much emotional attachment to, so other than sending out a few "merry xmas" type messages i just treat it as a normal day. if there are pretty lights in the park or a cute market or something around that time of year, i will go along to that (but i also do that alone). i don't really know much other way to do it tbh, when i was growing up it was always a hugely stressful thing with everyone angry or upset, so i like mine a lot better now :bc_smilomsweat:
thank you, i am hopeful that if/when i can get into a less precarious living situation (working on it rn!) it will make many things a lot easier and will open up some options for getting my work into people's hands. there are many irons to go in the fire, it is just a long way to the smithy sometimes isnt it :bc_smilomsweat: learning to draw has saved my life so i shall keep doing it even if nobody likes or understands or wants any of it, but it certainly makes me extra happy when they do! i hope you are also in a better & less frustrating situation nowadays! :bc_flower:
much as i would love to, i don't have the resources to make prints of anything yet, and probably won't be able to even think about such things until at least next year (i also have no address to send things to until ??? not sure tbh..next year again prob!). but, it is always very encouraging to hear that people would like a print from me, i really wish i could do this for them :bc_melttears: maybe one day, but it is a very far-away day. sorry to have to say no, i am amidst a lot of life upheaval and don't have access to the things i would need to make it happen :bc_melttears: i feel really sad about this because it is such a generous & thoughtful thing to offer and it would be very meaningful for me!
ideal struggle meal coincides with when i end up with an amount of leftovers that isnt enough to be a meal on its own, in which case i either:
mix it with an egg or two to create some sort of unholy omelet/pancake
put them into a big sandwich (extras + toasted optional)
put it as toppings on "pizza" (in quotes because this is almost never done with an actual pizza base)
but if i don't have leftovers i do my Quickie Noods, which is frozen veggies, whatever noodle can be cooked through in <5mins (usually rice noodle or thin egg noodle), and scrambly egg/tofu all mixed up in a hot pan or wok. i do the veggies & egg/tofu while the noodles are cooking so i can just wham them in fast when they are done! i also usually throw in a bit of curry powder, soy sauce & sesame oil but doing it with just minced garlic + red pepper flakes is also good! i fucking hate cooking but this takes less than 10 mins and is reasonably balanced (compared to a grilly chee anyway) so it is very much a go-to for me.
thank you for the hard work! so many cool features getting implemented! is it just one flag we can choose or can we have several at once (or is a limit set by admin)? i'm excited about it either way.
i do have a small (?) QoL request, or maybe it's 2 really, and that is a) to access custom emojis in the post/reply form picker and b) have a searchbox in the emoji pickers. but it's not a big deal if it's not possible!
did an online watch party of some Tim Curry films (Legend, It, Muppet Treasure Island) which was lovely.
also watched Faces of Death (2026), i was not expecting to dig it very much and it was kind of an "ok fine" pick but i ended up having a blast with it!
doodles are wonderful too, i think most if not all artists would agree it's important to be able to let loose and play creatively without getting obliterated by perfectionism. they are fun & also very helpful for experimenting, i love a doodle!
❤️ thankyou! i enjoy those artists a lot, plus much of my influences come from pre-raphaelite, art nouveau and the book illustrations i grew up with so it makes me very happy that these things are being picked up on. it really means a lot to me!
ah ok, i do have a big gap in knowledge when it comes to manga, i think i am only familiar with Junji Ito really. i would like to explore it more though. thankyou!
not at this time, no. i pretty much only do one-offs, though some drawings seem to live together in a way. i have embryonic ideas for bigger projects but it is a lot for me and my adhd ass to think about tackling especially given i take so long to draw. thank you for asking though!
i will have upheaval because of moving but will try to do my best for threadtember 🫡 a couple of the suggested categories are things i already do so that takes a little pressure off
i believe it extends to any month you want it to. even february. spooky valentines day hello!

for 6, i would love to encourage people to post something they made themselves, no matter what you may think of your skill level!
some comms that might suit for this (but of course browse around for others too!):
nothing terribly new to me this week:
also Gunship's Empress of the Damned has been stuck in my head for days!

i don't really know how to respond to that because i don't know if that is a good or bad thing. sorry if i fucked up. :/
