Revenge (2017) on Mubi

A girl on a getaway with her boyfriend is raped and nearly killed by his criminal friends. Goes on a self-finding trip and gets her revenge. Surprisingly good play on action tropes with a slight dash of sarcasm and cultural sensitivity. I had a lot of fun watching it.

It seems to be a human thing for a certain percentage of us to neglect scientific knowledge and believe in something completely random, far-fetched and borderline bizarre. We had that with deities thousands of years ago and now it's being replaced with flat earth, computer gnomes, tiny sugar balls or perhaps at some point bitcoin. A man can still dream.

Imagine a generation of people centering even their nostalgia around commercial products instead of interpersonal relationships and life experiences. Those things are replaced by products that are becoming crucial to creating it, like game consoles, commercials, printed media - just abysmal
