Not sure. There are a lot of symbols used in the past that have come to mean one party or another. That's likely to happen again with any "common man" symbolism.
For now, during times of fighting against the oppression, a guillotine works to symbolize the movement.
It's a great symbol of the revolution, but it's not a great "common man" symbol. The common man is the worker just trying to improve society/home for their friends, family, and selves. A guillotine isn't a great symbol of that.
I mean, yeah? If you're going to be producing more in the same amount of time with no benefits and functionally a decrease in pay compensation... you're gonna start taking time for yourself. Your company won't, so why shouldn't you?
If the god sends me to hell for not believing in him after his followers were so cruel, then he is a tyrant and I want nothing to do with him. If he recognizes my goodness and doesn't care whether I had faith in him or not... then it sure sounds like I don't lose.
Yeah he's the kind of wealth that helps you realize why people ever supported the wealthy. They used to actually have an understanding that keeping their wealth meant keeping employees, customers, and people at large happy and safe – and they'd be willing to put in the effort (or rather, money) to ensure it.
