My brother had to call CPS just this Friday on his neighbor because he thought it's okay to beat her 17yo daughter in the street for forgetting to wear a hijab. The neighbor was even born in US, him/his wife has hung out with us in the past. She used to speak a very similar tune about hijab like it's my choice and I believe in it and it gives me strength and all the indoctrinated crap that few years ago, I too thought was women empowerment of some kind.
Where was she protecting her daughter? Nowhere, instead she left a bag of shit at my brother's front door last night in front of the doorbell camera.
While I also have independent women that have chosen to wear hijab in theirs 30s in my life, I'm leaning towards this whole concept is fucked. I don't see where you draw the line between, it's my choice that's why I do it vs I might get murdered by my brother if I don't do it. How many women live in this fear. I also worked in immigration law clinic in UK for a few months. I have also met a woman, who was refugee and that had no male relatives with her, be scared of removing hijab on the fear of retaliation from community she will desperately need support from before she can be legal.
That's a fair point though. Although he needed money only for three days. And i guess I would've lent him because he would return it. Come to think of it, I'm feeling like the asshole now.
Any advice on how else can I make him understand priority?
So the trick would be to give them financial data like a good boy, so you blend with the crowd. Shop using alipay, wechat. Take trains and all. I doubt at the point they have resources to chase everyone who doesn't post online. Since they know where I am and what I buy.
I don't like it, but if I lived in China either I go rural and die in poverty and I stay in urban to earn a living but submit some privacy to retain more. I mean if I can find some underground, I'd join to resist, but realistically how much can you resist. I don't think I'm willing to die for absolute privacy. If I was a persecuted group like uyghr maybe I'd consider resisting to the point I might die and be tortured, but if I was han Chinese i don't think i would.
Yeah but also fanatics to a degree. So to claim something like this is both being a heretic in eyes of islam and untrustworthy in eyes of teaching community. Stupid move.
I have no problem with people having fun, but my cousin buys fifa or Football manager every year. Which is fine, he has fun with it. Good.
But recently he asked money for fuel. And I lost it. All he wanted was 60 dollars because he ran out budget and is maxed at credit card and payday is 3 days away. I refused stating he has spent over 90$ just this week on a game with no meaningful upgrades. never got big limits, he only has one card of $4k, so not financially irresponsible, but starting to with these kind of decision making. And I need to stop it it's track.
I can't understand decision making like this, he is smart enough to know how much fuel he consumes, he bought the game when his tank was around 20-25% full. 3 days later tank is empty and now it's borrowing time? No man fuck that.
But how do you even get detected? Unless of course you talk to it through some third party app that stores conversation client side and your phone gets confiscated. But if I set it up, it would be through Web interface that I open in incognito browser and history sit on server side. Sure server confiscated and i might be caught, but how otherwise will I be caught?
Almost everyone in my family keeps sending me AI generated documentary shit all the time. Problem is bets I can tell only 50% of it factual. Every single video in my family, I'm tired of debunking boss. And despite proving more than a few dozen times, that it's not 100% reliable data, they are content in accepting half truth and half lies for at least the half is true. And it's getting in my nerves. So yes fuck Gen AI artists. They can rot in hell.
I'm slightly less mad at pure art promoters at least they're not misibforming. But I'm still mad because art is human expression to me.
A human has to decide every single stroke of an image, some speak more than others, but everything is intentional. Mistakes and all.
With Gen AI there is no active decision making in most of the image, prompt was active decision sure, but the details, how each curl of hair should be, or how two colors should blend, 99% of prompter artists are not making that minute decisions. And that to me is just expressionnless. So I might hate them less, but they too can rot in hell.
Yes but the problem is finding out stuff from label what it could taste like. I've had 5 out 5 chilli stuff that tasted relatively quite normal to me, problem was I was craving something spicy. So I would appreciate some kind of universal spice level. I don't mind if I am on 3/10 or something. Just don't want to see 5/5 chilli taste mild.
Problems with rating like that would be people like this colleague of mine. He refuses to accept my spice tolerance is moderate like mine, he will go and buy stuff 5/5 chilli so he can feel he can eat spicy. And I suspect these 5/5 mild items are market towards people like him.
Yeah time to kick him out was when he was 20ish +/- 1 year.
Since you get a very good idea by that point if that adult is able to take care of himself. I have 3 people in my life (2 cousins, 1 family friend). Who are in that exact situation. I knew even when they were 20 that they're not given the right skillet to ever be independent. And have no motivation to be independent on their own. Now they're all in their 30s. I always their parents talking to my parents about how to make them independent and refuse to still cut them cold turkey.
I mean parents fucked up for sure, but it's not too uncommon unfortunately. All I ever remind those parents is, I will not help someone who isn't trying to help themselves. I'm not even close to them. But 2 out of 3 have tried asking me for money.
I have three degrees, none of them have focused at all on programming. I had one c++ programming class in uni.
In my experience, most of the IT stuff is easy-ish, if you start trying. Most people have some psychological barrier with anything looking like code. I'll give you two examples.
My wife would refuse to fix small issues in our home lab, but once I explained, everything we have is backed up twice. And wiped homelab to assure her that we can't fuck up by accidental edit, we'd have a way to restore it she started trying, and she is decent at it. She even started our paperless container on her own. I had to help a bit in configuring it, but a bit. Soon she maybe able to manage everything. On the other hand.
At work I have this junior, I'm training. First I had a json file, he got scared editing and would bug me everytime. Then I made a simple text file, variable_name space value. He was scared of that too. I finally made a csv that he would open in excel, then he felt comfortable. He refuses to even try 2 years in, because our job in not really technical and I'm not his boss.
TLDR: start trying with simple things, backup everything, you may fail a bit, but it's not that hard to get started with basics.
Don't like ubisoft currently and all their projects are shit. don't want to pay them a single cent. Me paying for few decades old game will just result in them churning out no useful story assassin's creed that i dont care about.

I saw it available on high seas

Sure it is, I'm not saying it's great. I'm just saying the quote always puts my brain into a folly.
That saying always bothered me, if the same person sends multiple murderers to death, total number of killers does go down.
Fiction The Expanse series (starts with leviathan wakes) BY James S A Corey
Non Fiction Dragnet Nation by Julia Angwin
I'm new to aquatic pets, is that a fighter fish?
I've also heard a fucking flat rectangle theory.
Skillet is the secret of a good life

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah fitgirl is not good for AC1 and all three AC2 games. Though good for AC4 and onwards.

I've been meaning to ask, are you playing these from steam or from high seas? I'm looking for a reputable high seas source, but struggling.
