does something have to have emotions to be alive? lots of simple organisms don't have emotions.
I know you're talking about consciousness and i'm talking about aliveness, but it popped into my head as an interesting thought.

yeah I always think that like an ant is an order of magnitude 'different' to humans, so much so that they kinda live in a 2d world just droning and sensing themselves about and they can't even consider us and the world that we live in and experience.
We live on the same planet and same conditions, and have that much variance between us with regards to experience, intelligence, and of course physiological aspects etc.
'Life' out in the universe could easily be an order of magnitude different to us humans, who's to say we can even comprehend the 'life' even if we may be staring right at it.

Hard drugs or aesthetics has never crossed my mind tbh but I can see that! 🤣 it is just that a spoon is the right size if you just want one hit/dose, the right material to be heated and is small enough to heat up everything and be done in 5minutes :)
I personally don't find a hot spoon a particularly dangerous thing to deal, especially after witnessing and doing this myself for over a decade.. but each to their own!
