That's fine. There will always be some niche / industrial software that someone needs Windows for.

I agree that it's probably a sensational article. No matter what the numbers actually are - it's too early to draw a line to Trumps policy decisions.

It's cherry picking, but I'll point out the 15% increase in the cost of eggs due to Avian flu. I mean, if we blamed Biden for inflation over the last several years then we can place this at Trump's door step surely?

In any case, I look forward to seeing the MAGA-splaining in the coming months.

Jury nullification is corruption.

It involves 12 people falsely stating that a defendant is not guilty despite their belief that they are guilty. How is that not a perversion of the court process?

Just gonna be blunt and say that this is a pretty shitty misconception, like saying cancer sufferers didn't pray hard enough or something.

I'm T2D. I'm not going to provide my "fitness creds" (because why would you believe me anyway) but I'll just say it's absolutely not possible that my T2D is caused by poor diet or lack of exercise.

T2D is caused by insulin in insufficient quality or quantity. The pancreas produces insulin. Some people just have a shitty pancreas that produces shitty insulin that doesn't work. If you're overweight then fatty pancreas makes it worse, but it's not the underlying cause.

If you have T2D you can't store glucose effectively, it hangs around in your blood and fucks everything up. Consequently you shouldn't consume carbohydrates which your liver covers to glucose.

T2D is not caused by the consumption of sugar, but people with T2D cannot process sugar.

For a newly diagnosed person with T2D, diet and exercise is indeed the first recommendation, because the meds suck and losing some weight might make smaller doses more effective.

I, and others like me, lost the genetic lottery. I have to stick to an incredibly restrictive diet, and bullshit exercise regime, to delay the inevitable deterioration of my health. Even so I will be lucky to live to 60, and if I do ill probably have ass cancer or amputations or dead kidneys or some other fuckery.

Honestly, stick your "diet and lifestyle" misconceptions up your jumper.

Was I pretending?

I really just want people to think about what they actually want. Lemmy doesn't have much self awareness on this issue.

You can't complain about Trump not facing justice but simultaneously want Luigi to walk.

Luigi is a hero, but he needs to face trial and should be convicted if there is sufficient evidence.

There's a huge variety in condiments.

Mayo is egg, vinegar, and oil.

Fats (oil) are super complicated. Some are very bad for you like canola oil (but they're also cheap) while some are very good for you like olive oil (EVOO) (but it's very expensive).

Some Mayo varieties will have these three ingredients and an emulsifier to help it stay nice on the shelf.

Others will have heaps of sugar and bullshit flavours.

The difference in nutritional value is huge.

Pretty much, because when you really nail down what you're protesting about, you want exemptions from the law for people you like, which is just bonkers frankly.

Well no but I can observe other protests and comment on what works well and what doesn't.

You've seen the headlines about telsa sales tanking right? In some markets by 50% or 60%. That's a big deal.

First movers do enjoy a special privilege but I'm not sure how sticky that will be in this case. Musk's political views are at odds with people that are environmentally conscious.

Those views are now indefeasible from the brand and this kind of "vandalism" (provided it doesn't significantly damage the vehicle) is a great way to reinforce that connection.

OP is including writing "wash me" in the dust on the rear window in "vandalism".

That doesn't financially harm anyone and is obviously not the same as burning someone's house down.

Yeah. You see it all the time around here. It's usually some smart ass kid doing it to their mum's car or whatever.

However, that's still "vandalism" by your definition.

Just gonna be honest... you seem a bit uptight about this.
