J perm is essentially just [R U R' F': T perm] ([A: B] means A B A'), so you can still derive T perm from J perm and a lot of other PLLs from T perm. And I think J perm can make predicting edges easier since the 2 edges that will be swapped are the 2 that you already see. I don't use 2-look PLL but I use 2-look CMLL and I can easily predict EO (and EOLR if it's a good case) after doing J perm.

I would prefer j perm (R U R’ F’ R U R’ U’ R’ F R2 U’ R’ (U’)) for adjacent corner swap as it’s 1 move shorter and is faster for me

I play 2... d6 then usually take on f4 next move to transpose into Fischer defense. I think this move order is better because it tempts some 3. Bc4 players to play Nf3 attacking your pawn, when you can transpose. If you don't want to learn theory then just play the KGD with 2... Bc4 and 3... d6. In both lines white can't play 3. fxe5 due to 3... Qh4+.

What I mean by "confusing" is that it's harder to estimate. A joule is a newton multiplied by a meter, which is essentially the work you do when you lift an apple (which experiences around 1 newton of gravity) from the ground to a table (which is around 1 meter). So using megajoules should be more intuitive compared to kilowatt-hours. What makes kilowatt-hour easier to the layman to understand is that electric companies charge by kilowatt-hours instead of megajoules.
