US and China have a completely different mindset and culture on innovation. Here is an old Bunnie Huang's TED talk video explaining the differences. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S39fhrGjr4U
They absolutely milked the living shit out of the Destiny franchise until it died unceremoniously. They also funneled that pile of cash into exotic cars and Marathon.
The part that blows my mind is how there are Destiny 2 fans out there that want Sony to greenlight Destiny 3 and let Bungie make it. They expect Sony to give $500M to this group of devs and leadership that managed to kill the franchise through repeated mismanagement and under delivery over the years? Destiny 2 fans want more of the most aggressive FOMO driven anti-consumer microtransactions to nickle and dime them for another decade? Seriously?
Probably the best thing that can happen for Destiny is for Sony to give Destiny IP over to another studio like Insomniac, Guerrilla, Sucker Punch, or Santa Monica. Perhaps they can make a better non-live service Destiny game.
No problem. The list was very easy to make since I just went through the process. Yes I agree that it's crazy practically every married women have to slog through the gauntlet of bureaucracy. I'm genuinely surprised I haven't heard more complaints from married women about it.
I hope I haven't discouraged you from going through the steps of changing your name. Social Security Card and Driver's License are the two that takes some time and effort but it's all down hill after that. Everything else is just tedious and not difficult at all. When you eventually hold your new documents with your new name in your hands, it will be well worth it. I won't spoil it for you but you'll feel it. Good luck!
Just something you should be aware, getting your name changed could be a royal pain in the butt and takes a long time, fair bit of money and a lot of patience. I recently went through the process and it's quite the journey. First thing you need to get is a signed paper from a judge in your state. Here are the list of things you have to do afterwards. There are some dependencies so you may not be able to get them done simultaneously. Social security card and state drivers license are the two most important and everything else comes afterwards.
Social Security Card - Depending on your location, an appointment could take few months.
Driver's License - In my state name change doesn't require an appointment however if you're upgrading to Real ID then it may require an appointment. Appointment could take several weeks to several months depending on your state.
Bank Accounts - This requires new drivers license as ID
Credit Cards - Same as above.
Investment accounts (Broker, 401K, IRA)
Local public library card
Memberships like AAA, Costco, AARP, etc.
EDIT: There are several more additions I just thought of.
If you own a house or condo with home owner's association, you'll need them to update their records
if you have children, your daycare center or school will need their emergency contact updated
EDIT: The following don't pertain to me personally so I really don't know what is involved with name change. You should to do more research to find out for sure if they pertains to you.
If you are a certain licensed professional like doctor, lawyer, accountant, real-estate agent, electrician, plumber, etc. you may need to update those records
Firearm registration may need to be updated
if you are in your family member's will, those may need to be updated
I bailed on Destiny 2 after Shadowkeep when they announced content vaulting and I never looked back. The writing was on the wall back then that the game will end up in a ditch. My experience with Destiny 2 is basically frozen as of Shadowkeep so it's relatively positive but I just can't understand how anyone could tolerate player hostile decisions Bungie has made over the years. Here is Aztecross' video explaining some of them including pay to win elements. His video is already two years old so I'm sure even more nonsense has been added to the game since. Destiny franchise started out as something special but it died as a horrific heap of anticonsumer garbage due to unchecked greed of a corporation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsIdPWB2_JA
Sony seems to be completely out of touch with the reality. During the time when the console prices have skyrocketed to the point it's no longer an option for entire segment of the population, they decide that it's right time to go back to console exclusive games? It also baffles me that there are fully grown men that are actually celebrating the return of console exclusives. What a bizarre tribalism at work here. I think I'm just going to slowly work through my back catalog until some semblance of sanity returns.
I don't know which is worse for Digital Foundry. Did they actually not know it looked awful or they knew it was awful but decided to tow the nvidia's marketing line to maintain good graces with them for future access. I guess I could watch this video but watching more AI slop will makes me physically ill. I think I'm going to just unsubscribe and move on.
Considering Windows has become a complete dumpster fire recently, this $600 laptop could be a really appealing option for some if they're mostly browsing the web.
Gucci and many other so called "luxury" brands aren't sold to the wealthy but rather middle class buyers that are desperately trying to project an image of wealth. It's why they have tacky giant logo plastered all over them to scream "Look at me! I've spent a lot of money on this!" To me that just screams insecurity.
I've suddenly lost all interest in this browser's development. From what I've heard, LLMs are pretty bad at generating Rust code for some reason. If they used LLM to bulk convert C++ code to Rust, the quality of the code is questionable at best.
Putting AI datacenters in space has got to the be dumbest idea conceived by Elon yet. There has to be several dozen engineering challenges to even make that happen and when all is said and done it would make absolutely no financial sense to actually do it. This is just yet another attempt by Elon to hype up spacex for an IPO. It's a very poor attempt at that.
EDIT (1 day after initial comment): There is one angle I didn't think of yesterday but just dawned on me. Now that Twitter office was raided by authorities in France, perhaps Elon thinks he can put datacenters in space to get around the jurisdictions of countries. He might be thinking by putting datacenter in space that can beam data directly through starlink he can basically side step local law. He may think by having CSAM generating datacenters in space it can't be raided and be shut down easily by terrestrial law enforcement. Obviously this is not how law and law enforcement works but I think there is a decent chance Elon is dumb enough to think his idea would work.
The title of the article is very misleading. Microsoft has not said they'll be removing AI features already deployed on Windows. All it says is they're reevaluating AI features going forward and streamlining the experience whatever that means. It sounds like they're looking to rename unpopular unwanted feature like Recall instead of scrapping it. The whole thing is just a PR move to placate the disgruntled masses. Also they said nothing about intrusive ads, telemetry, or rapidly declining stability of overall system. Recent update literally broke windows explorer, task bar and start menu. One thing for certain, Microsoft will not stop using Copilot to develop their software in house. That would be admitting Ai tools are useless and that would sink Microsoft stock even further than it already has.
Those robots are complete vaporware. I would predict we're about to see whole lot of robot hype video clips on twitter and tiktok very soon. We're going to see his fake "robot" playing soccer, making breakfast, juggling, and whatever. I'm sure they'll be all ai generated. There will be paid tesla influencers who already bought cybertruck hyping up this non existent robots very soon. Elon will tout millions of robots sold but in reality they were all sold to spacex and those robots will be sitting in a hanger somewhere. It's all smoke and mirrors.
I'm pretty sure if anyone created a website that generated CSAM they'd be in jail by now. Just because it's Elon Musk doing it, authorities are fine with it? At one time law enforcement would make an effort put up a facade of justice system that's equal to everyone. This is how the masses would not rise up and dethrone the status quo. Anyone remember Martha Stewart going to jail for insider trading?
Isn't there Apple app store and Google play store policies that says this is not allowed? How come the app is still available on those mobile platforms? Where are EU regulators doing? No fines? Nothing?
We've basically reached a point where billionaires are publicly mocking and daring the rest of us to react. Do these accelerationist billionaires really think they'll come out ahead when the masses burn everything to the ground?
I’m leaning towards AI slop coding.

Yeah true. That's a shame because Destiny game made by Santa Monica Studio could be pretty good. They have some top talents over there.

This is basically Dead Internet Theory happening for real but in a weird creepy dystopian black mirror style way.
