If you need to run any sort of messaging apps, you're pretty much out of luck with non-Android dumbphones. It might be that some KaiOS phones have a Signal client (they did for Telegram and WhatsApp at one point) but I wouldn't place your bets on it.
The way I do it, is that I have WhatsApp at home only on my computer, and for everything else I just use SMS/calling. Feels more like I'm reliving the MSN days :)

Just fixed that. I obviously don't have a smartphone to test it out on, but in the dev tools in Firefox it seems to work fine ;)
That's true. I might tone that down a bit.
