Concordo, vivo da oltre dieci anni in Germania, socio ADAC (Club ciclistico generale tedesco, Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club). Il feeling è proprio così : alcune cose vengono fatte, ma è sempre lotta con la lobby delle Auto , molto potente anche politicamente.
I solved this using tailscale, no need to make your home server visible to the world, no Forwarding rules on your router.
It works like a VPN on your phone/laptop and access directly your target machine in your network running taiscale.
There is a completely selfhosted version called Headscale, but you'll need an accessibile server on the internet. A cheap VPS would work for this.
You can check also Zerotier, Nebula , Netmaker, pure Wireguard etc etc.

I bought a lenovo p14s AMD 2 years ago without OS, 32GB RAM and M.2 SSD, very happy with Arch, BTW.
Coreboot would be nice, but it doesn't seem feasible yet...
Normally I manage the whole week grocery shopping with 2 (now ~12 years old) panniers + 1 Ikea bag as a rucksack, a couple of years ago I was using my kids trailer (now broken).

uhm penso che potresti caricare lo swap da disco in zram per ripristinare dopo l'accensione, ma no sono sicuro.
Se spegni la memoria volatile si cancella, c'e' poco da fare.
Non penso tu possa avere due swap separate, ma potrei sbagliarmi.
Ma perché? questione di velocitá? Con SSD moderni non penso cambi tantissimo, a meno che tu non abbia centinia di GB di RAM.
uhm io devo passare la mia istallazione arch su laptop a un disco criptato (mea culpa) e per l'occasione passo 1TB>2TB M.2 SSD.
Premetto, sto imparando LVM e btrfs.
Stavo pensando di fare LVM su LUKS, home separata, ma non so se usare btrfs o semplicemente ext4, tanto posso fare snapshot anche con LVM, se ho capito bene come funziona.
I can prove that this is incorrect. Or are my kids mine ??
Really cool! I never touched *BSD, I have a mini PC/NAS home that ended with a minimal Arch install. This is something I can do at some point.

Penso che farò una installazione su una VM e/o un disco fisico extra , la testo e poi la uso.
Peccato che archinstall non mi permetta di usare systemd-boot e (forse sbaglio io) formattare il disco con lvm e luks come dico io.
Aspetta, nel senso che è disorganizzata o che qualcosa non è giusto? Prima di buttare il disco ai pesci vorrei evitare di fare caxxate....
