Rather than shipping a light version of GRUB, Fedora / Red Hat developers at first considered making use of systemd-boot for confidential VMs but the systemd developers reject adding additional features, systemd-boot isn't as widely tested and fuzzed as GRUB, wanting to avoid maintaining multiple bootloaders in Fedora, and other architecture concerns.

There was an interesting "some more news" episode about why childcare is so expensive. Basically it broke down to funding childcare in our system not being economically feasible for non rich people at an individual level so we need the government to step in and use taxes to make the economics make sense for both parents and care providers.

Yes I think I've had pretty bad luck on that front both my current laptop (framework 13) and old laptop (XPS 13) have had sleep issues.
My laptop's battery isn't great, but my real problem is with sleep. the battery for me can drop 20% - 30% overnight and sometimes it just doesn't go to sleep and the laptop is totally dead in the morning.
I've tried some of the optimization on the arch wiki for my laptop but no luck 😕

But AM/PM means before noon/after noon, so 12:30 AM is unambiguously before the current day's noon, and 12:30 PM is definitely after the day's noon.
For determining 12:00AM VS PM I use the law of lease surprise. Basically it would be weirder for 12:01AM to be proceeded by 12:00PM since it would make sense for AM/PM to flip with the hour. Is this scientifically rigorous? Should we need this much philosophy to determine the current time: no, Hence the only real solution is to 24 hour time

Why pay Microsoft for this when my Linux laptop already does this for free
