I played it for the first time five years ago after tons of content had been added, and really liked it. A year ago I played it for a second time, and I loved it.

The atmosphere and mechanics are just so immersive!

Now I want to play it again, I guess I will sink 100 hours into it once more.

It still amazes me how, with enough passion by the developers, a product can go from utterly shit to brilliantly executed.

Yes, I know :)

Still, I see a big change in my country, now that fuel has become expensive. Suddenly everybody wants an electric vehicle and an electric heat pump and solar panels.

What the heat waves and forrest fires could not manage the wallet at the gas stations did the trick.

So in a way it's all thanks to to the big red idiot in the white house. He accelerated the electrification and renewables of the planet, and I'm sure he's hating it!

If you would have told me that one day Donald Trump would be one of the key figures to get out of fossil fuel I would have thought you're crazy. It's ridiculous.

Since he loves awards so much, maybe Greta Thunberg should give him a "Award for the fight against Climate Change" medal. I just want to see his red face in that moment!

As if they would let you download the patches from their website like 20 years ago.

And no DRM? I don't believe it. Like never!

If there is the slightest online DRM this release is worthless. Sadly the article isn't very clear on this.

But if it really has not DRM and the patches are freely available to download there is no reason to not release it on gog for example.

DRM free is my only reason to pay, but I don't want to go back to physical media.

The YouTube app for Android. It's become my hobby to observe how it gradually becomes worse and worse. But not with dark patterns but just plain bad handling.

  • all icons became bigger over time, having to scroll more if you have multiple playlists
  • sorting has recently become almost impossible, you have to hit that perfect one pixel wide spot to rearrange videos
  • the search, oh my... 3 results, 5 unrelated videos, twenty shorts, 5 suggestions, 3 more results, repeat
  • only shows couple of playlists, have to click on "show all"
  • playlists are sorted alphabetically, or by last addition, varies from update to update. Muscle memory is useless
  • all the above varies from device to other device to browser to PC, there's no consistency
  • and so much more

If I want to use YouTube seriously I'm using Firefox and ublock, but I reached a point where I'm looking forward to every app update to enjoy the "improvements" they made for a "better user experience".
