Yea seriously they could have made a shitton of money just asking for a reasonable price for API access, the issue is the absolutely absurd pricing. If they wanted ads in 3rd party apps they could probably just have them show up as posts through the API and ban devs from blocking them, but this is about the collection of user data 100%
Sometimes, when they first met Violet did not like Pumpkin at all. Out other cat Midnight had passed soon before and we found Pumpkin around the same time and I think she didn't like having a new cat "replace" one that had passed, but that ofc wasn't the intent. We found Pumpkin a bit before Midnight died and he was scared and mewing so loud, he was not more than 4 months old when we found him. We fed him and slowly gained his trust and while at first he was scared of us pretty soon he let us hold him and since it was getting near wintertime and after midnight died we knew we were gonna have to bring Pumpkin inside.
seriously, distributing the load helps a LOT. Though if you can't spin up your own instance one thing you can do is try and host pictures externally, in !youshouldknow!youshouldknow@lemmy.world a post mentioned how to do it for images in comments since by default it has you upload if you don't manually put in 
depends on the instance but IMO it'd just be better to not use that word in a community name altogether
