Thanks! And yeah, I definitely got a good work out that day. I climbed all the way to the top of the castle up those stairs. There is even a spiral staircase in the inner keep. You get a really cool 360 degree view of the surrounding town and countryside. It was awesome. Luckily, it was not that heavy once I put it on. The hard part is carrying it to the castle and putting it on or taking it off. Then it feels much heavier. But once it's on you it's not too bad.
Unfortunately there are still fascist idiots in the American government right now so not much has changed! But yeah glad they did not Nuke Cuba. That would have been bad.
I dunno I think they may have been involved. But maybe they looked the other way. I think Kennedy knew about aliens and wanted to tell the world. But that is my tin foil hat, lol.
In the 60s, the CIA proposed multiple false flag attacks and operations on Cuba to former President JFK that would be considered borderline terrorism today. Much in the same way that Trump is launching an invasion in Iran and Putin in Ukraine. Thankfully Kennedy did decline most of their proposals because he thought they crossed the line though he did grant them permission to do some basic things. Still not good he let them intervene at all though that's not the worst thing the CIA has done.
"How it still holds up". Chernobyl came out in 2019. That's not that old! It's only 7 years. It might be a long time but not enough for a show to get dated like that.

They want a regulated one like Russia, China, and North Korea. That is the real reason behind this sudden shift against social media. They are scared of being exposed such as the Epstein Files. They want our Digital ID so they can police us with facial recognition software. 1984 is coming sooner then you think! And I say this as someone from the UK where it is already begun. We never had freedom of speech to start with though.
Sadly, many of our castles and such places are run by volunteers and the organisations who run them are not very good as they used to be. I wish we had more. We do have medieval events at certain castles but they are always quite far away and hard to get to. So maybe people do go just not around me. Though looking forward to going in August. It will be fun.

I know this comment is old now but I actually did end up getting real chainmail! Just posted some pics. It was quite heavy but not as heavy as I thought and I am getting used to it. I could easily move around and stuff. A lot easier then making it myself.
Well it wasn't too bad but it was windy that day and overcast. I am wearing it tomorrow and its meant to be 30 degrees so let's see how I manage. Though it does have holes for ventilation at least.
Thank you! The leg armour and sabatons (shoe armour) I made myself. It's part of my plate armour that I made fully by myself. I did make my own gauntlets but the ones in this photo are real steel from Amazon too. The sword is handmade by my dad and I painted it. I got the cape and hood from Amazon and the chainmail shirt from an online store called The Knight Shop. I used plastic from flower pots to make the leg armour and sabatons. And for my chestplate and other armour (that you can see in other posts in my profile) I used EVA cosplayer foam and more plastic. I found it easy to work with plastic and it has a metalic look. However, it can be tricky to spray paint and I used silver spray paint and a see-through top coat.
However, sometimes the paint flakes off which is the downside of not using real armour. I would love to get into real blacksmithing though but I do not have the training or space for a forge. But that would be epic. The chainmail shirt weighs 9kg and the hood weighs 2 kg so I was just getting used to it, lol. It did feel slightly heavy but not uncomfortable and even moved in the wind. I could easily run around and stuff like that. But if you want real chainmail it comes with lots of oil from the warehouse so you have to clean some off and it smells somewhat. Airing it out in the sun can help. Sorry for the long answer but it did take a few years to make though more that I kept tweaking and changing it. I will definitely save up for real armour like a chestplate but that might take time.

I studied historical coat of arms and followed the Rules of Tincture which is how medieval knights and nobles made their heraldry on shields and flags, etc. There were specific rules about what colours and patterns could go together so I tried to make it as accurate as possible. I made it myself though my dad made the sword and shield you see here, I made everything else and painted the shield and sword. It's meant to be two moons which symbolize my other hobby of astronomy and the owl is sitting on a book to represent my Animal Behaviour and Welfare degree that I studied at university. Also, my other hobbies and interests in general are animals and reading and writing, so just a kind of personal coat of arms. Though I am bad at art, lol. Glad you like it though. It was fun to make.

That's true and I suppose it is almost a decade but to me 7 years is not long. Though yeah I do agree.
