I thought it would look a lot like #LibreWolf, but they're just now rearing their ugly wokeness.
I'm currently playing with #qutebrowser, so far loving it - and the vim key bindings. Still early days so the muscle memory of using vim keys for the browser operations are still not fully set in, but getting close quickly.
@cybernews@infosec.exchange I assume that Betterbird (fork of Thunderbird) and LibreWolf (fork of Firefox) are also affected unless running the latest versions?
@RegGuy@mastodon.world I would say that this list does indeed absolutely qualify! I'm not from there but I do feel for you, I had issues when I lived in Georgia for a little while for this sorta stuff. As a non citizen it made things "more interesting" at the very least. ๐
@unrushed233@lemmings.world AI watching (and reporting on) everything you browse using that browser right back to Mozilla, are you really that naive to believe this won't happen?
@cupcakezealot I would oppose that because I don't want ai infecting my computers or life. Having an "opt-out" simply isn't good enough either. IF they deem it necessary to bow down and be submissive to AI, the must make it opt-in and not infect the browser but make it an addon (read extension).
Anything else would undermine both their browser, and their relationship with their browser users.
If you want to use AI, use it, but don't make it the default and/or force people to use it, simples
@sabreW4K3 why don't you fork Firefox to do all those unnecessary for everyone else things? Firefox needs to stay unbloated, unAI'd, and most importantly sincere to it's original intents.
"I want a browser that can fact-check pages" ๐คฃ AI cannot fact check itself let alone anything else. Why don't you do your own fact checking?
@Jezebelley Ah I see, this is obviously some strange usage of the word nice that I hadn't previously been aware of ๐
In all seriousness, I installed Firefox the other day just to say that I have given it a go, and my god without forcing dark mode on everything was really terrible. I can't believe there was a time that that was all we had!
@CarbonatedPastaSauce@lemmy.world it would be impossibly round.
@admin@hear-me.social the irony is the post is hosted on a mozilla url, the current kings of the "open source" spyware brigade!
@codefenix@techhub.social yeah not sure, can issue commands but messages to a room/dm don't work
@Vivaldi@vivaldi.net desktop icons are so untidy - tiling window managers ftw.
What does life after #Mozilla #Firefox look like?

@jack is this disabled by default in custom rom's like #LineageOS?
@AYMusicBot@retrochat.online I loved this game when I had a spectrum, this brings back so many memories.
@NegativeLookBehind@lemmy.world the year of the BBS!

@Jezebelley sounds to me like a real shit drink

@Jezebelley yes accidentally, and my retinas burned out.
@Jezebelley you and me both. We should go!
@Jezebelley I wanna go stay in that place in Norway, that looks lush!
