I've had those! It sounded like such a tech bro bs at first, then I found them secondhand for a steal. The whole "it adjusts to your ear canal" actually does something! In the end what made me sell them was use on the go. Every bump or movement of your head made the in ear part move and thus make weird noise cancelling sounds when that happened.
I really want to switch to a clamshell for portability and nostalgia, but none of the clamshells supports usb c pd.... I don't want to bring around an a to c charger just for this device

they're expensive, but they also outlast most modern laptops. A first gen Sony still fulfills its purpose of reading epubs. So in the end it isn't as expensive. Secondhand it is also a lot cheaper and again, they don't age that much
most readers are waterproof
e-readers have little storage, but a book is a few MB's. So even with 16gb, you probably never fill it
color is fun, but I'd recommend steering away if your end goal is reading books. You need to push the backlight way earlier than on a bw ereader. If you do read comics, it looks like an old newspaper in terms of picture quality. The colors are far from accurate, but you only notice this side by side with the actual comic/phone
I would steer away from kindles. They're known to just update and kill your setup. There are plenty of devices in which you can play around without this issue. Kobo and pocketbook are in my opinion the most viable options. Long battery life, supports many formats, supports koreader if you want. Boox is also fun, but due to android the battery life is a lot less. With the boox you're able to run Android apps though, so you could more easily use it like a notepad with your familiar apps
I don't think I hate teams for the same reason as most on this site. My gripe is the stability issues. Just at my department alone there are 20 different issues per teams. Some range from buttons working after a few presses to teams just bsod the device. On my laptop teams has a memory leak and which is persistent. I have to clear teams every week or it will not even start up anymore
I still have an old Kobo h20 laying around not being used since I got the updated version. If you are situated in the eu, we can look into a sale!
The h20 works fine to this date and works like a flashdrive
