It would not be a privacy nightmare for me. I would just refuse to own a phone. Privacy problem solved.

I know a man who still uses a flip phone and has never owned a smart phone and never had an Internet connection. No android or ios, no apps. He lives completely without Internet and computers and he is doing just fine.

I also lived using only a flip phone and without Internet for several years. In that time I accomplished more than half my life prior.

"Change can only come to the US if people learn to wield their collective power in ways that don’t depend on the elections."

No, change can only come if people repent of their political and religious idolatry and abandon their factional and sectarian creedos and turn to God the Father through his Son Jesus Christ. The nations are failing because the nations have abandoned the truth of God for humanist and sectarian lies, which are their idols. Man is worshiping himself, money, and power, which are the main idols causing all the madness. Madness is a spiritual condition, not an electoral one.

Everything else is worldly-wise mind-poison.

FreePascal is secret weapon.

When sticking to the procedural method the source reads like pseudocode. This makes it useful for writing cryptography and workhorse tools that require utmost clarity.

When team Python sunset v2.7 and vaporized a decade worth of source code I abandoned Python for Pascal for all my personal fiddles. A Pascal program will compile and start while the Python interpreter is still warming up.

The fallacy is failing to understand the authoritarian spirit behind purported 'humanitarian' causes, especially those that involve using the deadly force of the state for funding. People who worship the idol of political power are generally lacking awareness of their own desire to boss others around. Failing to learn from history is part and parcel of the matter. Giving government ubiquitous control over the food supply has one result, and history has proved it a hundred times over. Complain all you want about greed in the market--government is near infinitely greedier.

It is a solution in search of a problem. And it would create far more expensive problems than it proposes to solve. The Soviets already did this kind of thing--the same Soviets who deliberately starved millions to death with manufactured food shortages.

Trump pardons Silk Road operator Ross Ulbricht

"The pardon fulfills a campaign promise made to the president’s crypto diehards."

"On Tuesday night, President Donald Trump issued a pardon to Ross Ulbricht, who ran the dark web marketplace Silk Road under the pseudonym “Dread Pirate Roberts.” Ulbricht has been serving a life sentence without parole since 2015, when he was convicted of multiple charges, including the distribution of narcotics."
