It's not that they're "censoring" releases, it's the developers themselves who send DMCA requests to the website owners so they have to take it down. On the good side, there's a high chance the release has already swarmed on other sites.
So far, there are some user-scripts or extensions to customize Lemmy like old.reddit.com or according to your needs.
At the moment, I am using Lemmy_monkey. There is a community called "Lemmy Plugins & Userscripts" covering everything you need

Same, I uninstalled Relay today expecting their app to shutdown soon.
I'm going to try this out with Violentmonkey and report back ! It seems like a great option
