I see it more as warriness than hatred. Whether or not they act "good" now, they have a near monopoly. It has a lot of potential to go bad for us consumers, even if the probability might be low. Murphy's law apply: if it can go wrong it will, someday.

Maybe you're aware and it doesn't fit your need, but in case not: there's a snipping to ocr tool provided with PowerToys. Win+shift+T and select a zone, il ocr it and puts it in your clipboard. Good stuff. There's also NormCap that does the same : https://dynobo.github.io/normcap/
Tbf I don't know much about the Hyprland history. The point raised by the OP on the forum links to tweets by both framework and Hyprland accounts saying framework became a "gold tier sponsor" of hyprland. It's fair to assume that involves a donation.

Making public transit free instead of making it better, and then use the fact that nobody uses it anyway to demantle it further, is a bad thing. I think Not Just Bikes touched on that in one of its videos.
But it's not always the case that free = bad. If it's already efficient and continues to improve, it can accelerate the growth of public transit. Luxembourg city is one example I know where it seems to be working, and a "good faith" effort.

I already have Proxmox installed on a secondhand mini-pc (one of those NUC / thin-client like office machines) and it's been a great way to (re)learn a few things indeed!
Thanks for the heads-up. I've seen that the first gen had a few issues, I understand your frustration. I even saw a solution involving soldering a wire onto the motherboard? My hope is that they got better as they gained experience, and that hardware support on Linux will only imrove with time.
Yeah the proposition of Framework is what draws me to it. Price-wise it's more expensive than any other alternative, but it's still quite unique, and it ticks a lot of boxes that other don't (open-source firmware keyboard on a laptop ? whaaaaa)
Your dual boot setup is interesting! How did you manage to get this setup? Is it just a matter of installing windows on the external storage and selecting it as priority when booting? It would be nice to have the option.
I'm in Europe, so System76 can quickly become expensive here, with shipping, taxes, duties, etc. Tuxedo would be the alternative (I think they use the same OEM, Clevo, anyway). Thanks for the rec though!

I currently use a TKL, and I do need the function keys relatively available (on a different layer is fine as long as I don't have to hold a modifier for it, but can toggle). I'm pretty set on the ergodox frankly, just not sure on the specifics. Not sure I'd want less keys than what it offers, and any key without an immediate function, I can find an IDE shortcut to use it for :D

I did play it a few weeks ago with some friends, worked flawlessly! (using steam, on fedora, with a Nvidia gpu)
